Not your typical fairytale

I have no words to describe this very naughty version of Alice in Wonderland...

Okay, so that's not true, but WOW is the first to come to mind!
I didn't expect much from this book but I just couldn't pass up a chance to read an adult version of a classic children's fairy tail. To my surprise I really enjoyed it. It was hilarious and yet erotic. I love that the characters themselves were making fun of the parody and occasionally referring to the real world and a few of our giant corporations. (You can buy it on Amazon...)
The Mad Hatter and crew were full of puns and sarcasm and seriously had me laughing out loud - not something I've ever found myself doing while reading erotica. I didn't think it was possible to incorporate comedy, bdsm, and a classic children's fairy tale, but Melinda DuChamp pulled it off beautifully. She's quite clever.

I loved it and have already downloaded the second. Highly recommended!

This book is perfect for anyone interested in a fun and yet erotic short read. It will break up the monotony of reading the same genres over and over.

Now this should be made into a movie!

This audiobook is extremely hot--I mean, really really extremely hot. I usually use fanfiction for *ahem* 'inspiration', so I am thrilled to have a full-length x-rated book by an incredibly talented writer. Unlike Asian countries like Japan, who pioneered the yaoi genre, its much more rare to have a female writer who is completely unafraid to be sexually vulgar--not to arouse men, cause that's been done to death. But vulgar for the benefit of other women. Its like a much needed public service! I must also praise the efforts of the amazing narrator, who did a bang up job with both male and female characters. I must confess that her voice for Pilar is intensely arousing. That one part where Pilar says with that sexy accent something like 'you want me to lick you some more?...Or do you want me to mount you?', I swear I said out loud 'Yes! Mount me!' right along with the Alice character! Afterwards, I was praying that nobody in the next room heard me! I think that incident sums up my feelings on this audiobook perfectly.

Laughter and Hotness!

I chose this story simply based on the title. How could you possibly make a semi BDSM version of Alice in Wonderland? Answer: apparently quite easily. The comedy comes hand in hand with steamy sex and somehow neither diminishes the other in the slightest. Reviewing completely without spoilers would be impossible so you'll just have to read it. Trust me, it's well worth the time!

I wasn't sure what to expect but found it exceedingly enterraining. The humor was a nice surprise, pretty clever.

ebook equivalent of a cringey pornsite parody

it seems at times this book struggles to decide what time period it's set in and loses it's own train of thought in the sexual situations which leads to mild confusion but even for an erotic parody it merits 2 stars.

Feels Like Parody Alice Does Wonderland

To be clear this really isn't a story, this is just a series of different sex scenes exploring different flavors of kink where everyone happens to vaguely relate to characters (usually by name only) from Alice in Wonderland. The majority of the tale is explicit sex scenes, and the narrative does not take itself seriously at all often leaning on bad puns and cheap comedy. There are even multiple times where the narrator breaks the fourth wall addressing the audience with asides about amazon for instance.

The story is of an 18 year old girl who has little sexual experience and a lack of sexually satisfying encounters exploring a spectrum of sexual acts and kink with a variety of partners (D/s, group sex, voyeurism, masturbation, spanking, etc). There is some discussion of concepts of safe words but they tend to use words the character will inevitably cry out during intense pleasure. Twice when the main character screams a safe word play immediately stops, once when the character yells it the play continues uninterrupted. In some ways the book reads like an explanation and mild education about different kinds of play but there is no real depth, there is no character building, but again that is not why most are going to come to this kind of story.

I frequently found myself laughing at the silly writing and language. I think the phrase that cracked me up the most was "mammary intercourse." That was a first hearing that particular sex act called that and it gave me quite a laugh. The narrator definitely tries to distinguish voices sometimes her choices felt odd or off but almost became part of what was laughable about the whole piece.

I myself love Alice in Wonderland and the characters. This isn't it. Alice is just a thin lens to write a string of smut scenes relating to kink and a girl who wanders through these encounters with a willingness to try anything and everything with minimal protest. That is probably the closest connection to the original tale. But as I said the author doesn't take herself or the story very seriously, lots of odd goofy jokes, comments, and scenes. If you want thoughtful characters, with realistic build up to meaningful sex scenes, and a well built world this will not be your cup of tea. However if you want some cheap laughs, lots of smut, a spread of different kinds of kink, with minimal story interruption, and people vaguely relating to Alice in Wonderland, well then drink this one right up.

Just couldn't get into this one

Would you try another book from Melinda DuChamp and/or Alix Dale?

Narration was fine but the story itself didn't hold my interest for very long. I really like the consept of storybook classics being written in a different or re-vamp kind of way, but they are not living up to my level of expectation I have of them. Maybe this is not a realist choice for me. The same goes for western stories. Others may however enjoy this tyoes of stories better than I did.

This question does not apply with me. This is the first book I have owned by this author.

What does Alix Dale bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her narration is playful and fits well for the adult conversion of this classic story..

Do you think Fifty Shades of Alice in Wonderland needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No. I don't believe it would be able to hold my attention either.

it's weird, crazy and corny. if you can get through the first part, it's worth a listen. I laughed a lot. sexy and funny

SO HOT!

I loved this book. it is well narrated. I heard this artist narrate a different book, and she did just as well.
if you are curious about sex toys, kink or just sex in general, read this book.
