Summary

Callie Penrose returns in the second omnibus collection of adventures in the million-selling Feathers and Fire series: Angel’s Roar, Black Sheep, and Sinner (books four, five, and six).

"Kevin Hearne, Jim Butcher, K.F. Breene and now Shayne Silvers has been added to my favorite Urban Fantasy Authors list." (Michael Anderle, Amazon Top 25 best-selling author)

Who is Callie Penrose?

They say she’s been kissed by heaven - whatever the hell that means. Because Callie was orphaned on the steps of a church in Kansas City and doesn’t know her parents. She starts out as a rookie wizard who hunts monsters for the Vatican. Except...ironically, she’s never been a churchy kind of girl, and she quickly learns that monsters can reside anywhere.

Even among the most devout.

Get ready for Callie to take you on a gripping adventure into a new kind of Sunday school. Be on your best behavior, because she won’t crack a ruler over your knuckles to teach you a lesson - more like whips of fire and brimstone to your face.

Hell hath no fury like Callie Penrose. And that’s before she discovers her strange childhood ties to a jerk named Nate Temple in St. Louis....

If you like Jim Butcher, Sarah J. Maas, Kevin Hearne, Steve McHugh, Michael Anderle, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Shannon Mayer, or K. F. Breene, you won't be able to put down the highly addictive Feathers and Fire series. More than one million copies downloaded and thousands of five-star reviews. Available in digital, print, and audiobook formats.

Roland! 😱

I love Callie’s story arc. She’s where I started and she made me go back to read the templeverse in order.

While this book has given me more questions then answers, it’s what keeps wanting to read on I guess..

Another great read

not as good as first three books

book five was beyond weird had to skip through over half the book as it was nonsensical verbal diarrhoea. But the rest of the books were a fairly good read.

Brilliant box set

Brilliant stories adding new light and answering some questions but leaving many more for our heroine. Lots of twists and turns , action and a little touch of romance . Can’t wait for the next one . If you haven’t read this series I would really recommend it

Wow!

The beginning is a little confusing…bare with it, such a masterpiece. Immediately smashed the buy button for the next book in the series.

Too wordy!

I like the storyline but tapped fast-forward countless times! It could have been a couple of hours shorter had Shayne not described every scene in details not necessary to the situation in the books.

Freelance warrior Callie

Originally a paid employee of the church, Callie gets an unhealthy helping of reality and of the church and it's deceptions.

Callie decides that she's going to govern her own way - and no one can tell her otherwise....until she obtains a following.

While Callie feels close to Nate, she can't fully commit to his ways and is skeptical if it will work out if she gives him her heart.

While Callie and Nate fight on the same team - Callie needs to figure out who is pushing the buttons in the back ground.

Excellent

This is a great story. Great narrator. I love these books. My only complaint is every time a fight comes up we have to hear a lot about what she is thinking before the fight starts. Let’s get on with the fight and then tell me what she was thinking. But a lot of writers do this. I definitely wouldn’t miss this story because of it. Can’t wait to hear everything else from the author and narrator. Great job!!!!!

Gave it a go ... Nate Temple 100x better

Callie's not what I thought from the Nate Temple books. She's very annoying and dense. please more Nate Temple books.

If you want to miss out on sleep, listen to this

Well, I haven’t been able to function right and I feel this on purpose. So, sorry, not sorry, I have another book to listen to. I am listening/ reading in chronological order, therefore some of the cliffhangers absolutely killed me. But I have been staying strong. Now, I need to check my list, cause Callie sucked me in and I want to hear what troubles she can get into next

Blargghh

Three books.

The first one has massive logic flaws.
.
The second one is basically a dream sequence and should be skipped.
.
The last one does not end.

Same review as 1-3

I was new to this author so I was unfamiliar with his writing style. I went all in getting the series 1-3 and 4-6. I enjoy going in order and soaking it all in.
Just a little something about this series, it apparently intertwines with his other books... who knew.
Yes, they could be stand alone novels if you accept all of the private jokes you aren’t in on. All of the friendships made without you and fun / crazy times where you were left at home for even though you were here for every book in Callie’s story. This irked me. But I like order and completeness hence getting all 6 books at once. She apparently had tons of side stuff happened that I wasn’t privileged to. That being said it is a cool storyline. I love the narrator Nicole Poole one of the reasons I went all in. I feel incomplete after finishing book 6 because I still don’t have all of the information. I’d like to start at the beginning of this author’s work and listen to everything in order to gain perspective. Callie goes from never doing certain things to hey something happened to change her but nope not in this book kind of personality changes. Don’t get me started on Roland... but it is a good series. It’s just seemly part of a much bigger storyline. One I hope to enjoy in order
