About this listen
New York Times best-selling author Lynsay Sands welcomes listeners back to the Scottish Highlands, where a gallant warrior vows to protect a beautiful runaway.
Lady Murine Carmichael has known her share of bad luck. But when her debt-ridden half brother tries to sell her off in exchange for a few Scottish horses, it's the final straw. If keeping her freedom means escaping through harsh countryside alone, so be it. She has barely begun her journey when she lands an unlikely escort - the brawny Highlander who just refused to buy her virtue.
Dougall Buchanan was disgusted by Lord Danvries' shameful offer, but Murine tempts him beyond measure. Even bedraggled and dusty, the lass glows with beauty and bravery. Dougall wants to do more than just help her flee. He wants to protect her - with his life and his heart - if she'll only let him. For Murine may be pursued by a powerful foe, but nothing compares to the fiery courage of a Highlander in love.

Really enjoyed this book!
I felt I needed to write a review as an earlier negative review put me off listening to this book for months. I loved the 3 earlier books of this series so felt compelled to complete the set in the end.
I am so glad I did!! I just LOVED it!
It's funny, sweet and charming. Lynsey Sands knows how to write a great book.

HER SAVIOUR
Lynsay Sands writes Historical Mortal work just as Greatly as she does Her Modern Day Immortal work.
And Elle Newlands narrates brilliantly. The Best Narrator I've heard so far 📖😁

Puerile
The narrator is the only good thing about this story.
The main theme was the same as all the other book, just tons more sex, less running around nude and less being hit on the head.
The heroine is famous for her fainting, but only does so when there is someone around to catch her. One review said the only interesting part of the story was the "bull" she rode, no doubt in hope to outrun horses.
The hero; who "wish to protect and care for her, the saviour of their sister", can't help himself and has vigorous, uncontrolled sex, despite she is unwed, injured, has stitches and still fainting. There are multiple unexplained deaths, the heroine is "unknowingly" in danger. Yet despite all her weakness, she manages to save everyone, but gives up riding the "Bull". The hero does get to play the final roll in this travesty.
There are new and familiar characters, to jolly things along to complete the pantomime.
I would like to return this book, as I know I could never listen to it again, as it is I fast forwarded most of it.

Wouldn’t recommend...
The narrator was great but the story was too slow and not very entertaining. No humour and I think Henry (the bull) was the best bit about it.

Not much is happening
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Not really, it was an easy listen, but nothing to recommend.
If you’ve listened to books by Lynsay Sands before, how does this one compare?
My favourite is Loving daylights, of this series An english bride is my favourite and much better.
What does Elle Newlands bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
I think I would not have read the whole book, but listening it while doing something else did mean I did finish it after all.
Was Falling for the Highlander worth the listening time?
I listen to books while I am doing stuff arround the house and it is hard to find enough stuff to listen to, so it was ok.
Any additional comments?
There were some strands in the story that where not followed up, which I always find annoying.
