Summary
Welcome to Creighton Falls, New York...a town time forgot where miracles happen....
Glamorous city girl Hannah Ford wasn’t thinking when she walked out of a Christmas party and drove 300 miles into a snowstorm; she just needed to escape. Thankfully local carpenter Sam Taylor comes to her rescue, and the unlikely pair is forced to spend a snowed-in Christmas together.
All Sam planned for Christmas was to get drunk alone. The holiday has always been something to be endured, until Hannah tumbles into his life, making it magical. Now Hannah and Sam have a chance to have a Christmas together...and make it the best one either of them have ever had.
But can one night out of reality turn into something that’s lasting and real?

2 lonely people and a snow covered road
A quiet love story of two lonely people who were thrown together but not sure the storyline sends the best message.

Terrible story
I like Kate Hewitt books once I get past the awful narration but this one isn’t good. It’s a ridiculous story.

absolutel rubbish.
I only downloaded it because it was free. utter tosh. what a dangerous message to send out, being picked up by by a stranger and going back to his house and sleeping with him. I just couldn't believe anyone could be so recklessly stupid. not an author I would touch with a barge pole again

Dangerous behaviour, happy outcome.
I’ve enjoyed most Kate Hewitt books I’ve listened to, usually while doing housework .
But this storyline is so bad I began to wonder if it was a lesson in how not to behave! Or a spoof?!
Hannah leaves a work party, upset, and drives out into unknown territory, into a snowstorm…. ‘Rescued’ by a stranger and taken to a small town ( where he probably could have found her a safe place to stay) but for the sake of the story takes her home to his place, where within hours she is going with Sam into the deepest wood to cut a Christmas tree, hours later she falls into bed with him,..
The lurid sex scene… so bad it was funny and as for his Sisters tragic life and his Mother leaving, nothing funny about that, but didn’t work with this title ‘Falling for Christmas’

Great afternoon escape
Great short story and a great afternoon listen whilst gardening but found the attempt at a male voice a bit awkward

😊 good
I liked it but at the end I thought the women could have done more than just wait around for the man to do something.

Starts well—and that's it!
With such a flimsy plot this could have been two hours shorter and still been a waste of time. Lurid sex scenes—unnecessary for people with imaginations—are no compensation for characterisation and a storyline.

Almost followed the reviews
And wrote the story off after a couple of minutes. But it turned out as a true Christmas Story should be. Love, Hope, Faith in Life. The real Christmas story was exactly that and all happening in a bleak, poor, diverse reality. For me Christmas stories are at its best within real life’s diversities, struggles, disasters, pains and sorrow. Christmas is not about rise tainted life of privilege and wealth and health. I’m sure it’s different for some people who don’t want any negative picture of the festive season but for me it’s a season of giving hope and future and some light and love to people in desperate and lonely times. What would the world really be without love and hope for a better future. Therefore I liked the story very much and hope other readers will too.

Sweet, well done story.
This is a short, romantic story that was well read by Summer. I read one review before getting this book that said it turned into porn. That is so far from the truth. There is one very mild sex scene towards the end and that’s it! This is a story about the relationship of two people who come together under an unusual circumstance. Worth the 5 hour listen.

Disappointed after reading…
Disappointed after reading both Willoughby Close series, which were all sweet and clean! Started out okay, but then devolved into porn! Guess I won’t be reading anything else from this author…

Short and Sweet but a bit disappointing
This read/was read like one of those short Harlequin romances. The storyline was intriguing but had so much more potential. There wasn’t much character development, (they were a bit flat!) and the love developed really fast. I realize it’s fiction but highly improbable. More info about the town folks would have been better. It was short and to the point like bits were edited out to make it fit into a certain word count. They could have used 1 more day together. The sex scene was quite mild, safe sex was made clear. I honestly did not care for the ending except that it was HEA.
Spoiler below:
I personally thought the growth should have been with the FLC and she should have been the one to return to him. ( I questioned why an engaged socialite wasn’t on birth control but drank coffee as breakfast to keep her body shape) I hated how the “hick” was made fun of. New York and Manhattan have all kinds of people and he wouldn’t have stood out as alluded to. Personally I saw him wearing a dress shirt with his best jeans but with heavy work boots and looking extremely “hot”. There was little talk of the small town boy seeing the big city for the first time not to mention he was easily able to drive in it and park. He did not seem the type to turn and run. If anything I could see the reception turning him away and then him giving up and heading home. I didn’t understand why she was so mad at him for coming and why the miscommunication all on him. He never told her to go. Something about “I thought you wanted me out of there, you made it clear it was a one night stand “
All in all it disappointed me and I am glad it was free.

Just blah
Boring! Not enough character development. I didn’t feel the love between the main characters. Neither of them seemed very lovable. I have to confess that I started skipping chapters. Over all the story just fell flat. It wasn’t horrible, just blah.

Very sweet.
That was a very sweet and romantic story. The characters were really very interesting and sometimes funny. The story was pretty predictable but still pretty good.

Kept wondering what direction it was going
This story was just okay. I had expected it would be more emotional or explain a little bit more about the characters-- perhaps this is because it was a short story? The reader lacked some emotion when reading the author's words and fleshing out the characters. It never quite felt like it reached where it needed to be.
