About this listen

Terry Goodkind, author of the enormously popular Sword of Truth novels, has forged perhaps his best yet, pitting Richard Rahl and Kahlan Amnell against threats to the freedom of the world. They both must struggle at opposite ends of the earth against the relentless, monolithic forces of the Imperial Order.

A Sister of the Dark captures Richard and takes him deep into the Old World, to the very heart of the Order, while his beloved Kahlan remains behind. Free because of Richard's sacrifice for her, but unwilling to abandon the cause of the Midlands, Kahlan violates not only prophecy but her last pledge to Richard, and raises an army against the advancing horde of the Imperial Order. Separated and fighting for their lives, Richard and Kahlan will be pushed to the limits of their endurance and tested in their love for one another.

Once again, the master storyteller weaves a riveting spell that will captivate even more fans for this incredible series.

Critic reviews

"Notable for its engaging secondary characters, the novel also evinces flashes of sly wit....Goodkind's ingenious world-building will keep readers captivated." ( Publishers Weekly)
"Kenneth's narration follows the intensity of the plot through battles and hardship, as well as dreams of love and caring human relationships. With Kenneth as guide, this book never lags." ( AudioFile)

Favourite Book of the Series

I've read this book and the previous over 7 times and this and the first are my favourite, was so looking forward to getting to it and iy didnt disappoint!

I'm now onto Pillars of Creation which I'll just skip because it's possibly the worst book I've ever read. How on earth did Goodkind go from this to that, such a let down.

The suspense is captivating

Would you consider the audio edition of Faith of the Fallen to be better than the print version?

Both are equally as good, the narrator really catches the essence of the characters

What other book might you compare Faith of the Fallen to, and why?

Tolkein, the magic, suspense and mystery is worth the wait,

What about John Kenneth’s performance did you like?

Around every corner there was another possibilty and character involve, his narrative made the characters come alive

I live this series so much. This one was narrated extremely well (unlike some of the others!). On to the next.

Best one yet.

Loved it. Most captivating of the series so far. A whole new respect for the characters endearing them even more to the heart. I love kick ass Khalen and I am absolutely giddy when Khalen and Cara team up.
I always get mildly annoyed when Richard and Khalen are separated as they are the heart of the story and you want them to be together albeit on some adventure. However I think the author hit his stride, didn't over explain previous plot points and actually created two divergent storylines that were as compelling as each other.

slow to good

Some parts were real slow and a bit boring but in the end everything came together perfectly.

Loved this book and its narration

I think this has been my favourite of the Sword of Truth series so far.
I've been really looking forward to doing house work recently because that's when I listen to audio books. My kitchen has never been so clean.
