Spectacular

This trilogy is amazing. I have read the books but was thrilled to find them on unabridged audio. I absolutely loved having them read to me and Jonathan keeble is a master story teller. I do not have a single criticism of either the story or the narrator. I am in awe of derfel Cadarn. If this was a true history (lets say yes!) And time travel was possible, I'd be there. But near the back.... and with more bathing....

Fantastic

Fantastic book series well written, thoroughly enjoyed reading them but enjoyed listening to them more. Jonathan Keeble read these books with such passion.

Consistent through out.

I've really loved this trilogy. Bernard Cornwall is such a good writer with some of the best battle scenes I've ever heard or read.
his characters are so good and full of charisma. I'm not sure I've ever finished a trilogy in 6 days before but I did with the warlord chronicles.

my only one dislike was the ending. I won't say anymore but I wish that it was different. a near perfect trilogy.

now to wonder the stacks of audible hoping to find another gem like this.

Is moving as I had remembered.

The story is descriptive, historically educated, marvellously into the wind of the era. Finishing a little bit more abruptly than I would've expected, but the whole of the information was delivered in an emotional way. I really, reallyreally, wish this was made into a film. Listening to the performance with a different voices and expressions, it almost felt like I was seeing one. If you are auditory you're definitely Marvel in this.

Excellent

Brilliant from start to finish. The best Cornwell series yet and the narration was superb. Just be made into a film.

Fantastic version of a myth

As a child the tales of King Arthur and his knights were among my favourite stories and genuinely I only got this trilogy because I like some of the authors previous work and I love the narrator. Jonathan Keeble really knows how to bring a story to life, wonderful performance as always. As for the story what can I say, I have enjoyed every moment of this trilogy. I feel like I have listened to a diary from centuries past about real people and not a twist on an age old legend. Awesome stuff.

Stunning trilogy

The third of this outstanding trilogy. The depth of characters, the twists and turns of the story and the superb narration with Jonathan Keebles range of characters make this superb story come alive. I can't believe it is finished! I am a big fan of Bernard Cornwall. This audible presentation is for me probably going to be unsurpassable. If I could give 6 stars I would! One additional comment. Having read a previous reviewer commenting on the audible version of Excalibur ending prematurely before the book ends. I got out the book from the library to finish it and.... the book ends where the audible version ends. So there is nothing missing. The end is very good, but I would like to have heard from the old Dervil bringing the story to a close. Anyway fantastic trilogy and fantastic book within the trilogy. Enjoy!

An amazing story but a bit rushed

A brilliant story but I feel it could have been split into two more detailed books. I would have prefered some conclusion in the 'present' day story in an epilogue but the final lines were tear bringingly good.
