Please take care of my baby. But don't try to find me. You'll put him in danger. x

Profiler and therapist Kes Lashibi is shocked when she finds a baby on the backseat of her car, with an unsigned note asking her to take care of him.

Kes has a pretty good idea who the mother is - Brandee, a popular social media star with a troubled background, who once lived in Kes's house. Recently, the seemingly bright and bubbly Brandee's videos changed in tone before she completely dropped out of the limelight. Kes is beginning to understand why.

And if the internet rumours are true, Brandee's life could be in real danger.

Kes is torn.

Should she simply take care of the baby, as she's been asked to do, and wait to hear from his mother?

Or should she put the baby and her whole family at risk by using - less than legal - contacts from her previous job to save this young woman?

Time is running out for Brandee. Can Kes find her before it's too late?

This is the stunning new emotional thriller from The Queen Of The Big Reveal.

A Good Listen

I didn't know what to expect from this latest book as I was slightly underwhelmed with the authors last two books. However I found this one really interesting and a good story line, with enough suspense for me to finish in a few days.

Great storytelling

Yet another excellent book from one of Britain's brightest and best authors!!! The social commentary was perilously close to today's world lifting the fictional into reality at times and with a family story strong enough to swiftly take me back into their world again. Loved the flow between each character progressive state and the points of jeopardy for each with the motivator of pure love behind so many of their actions. Loved it from start to finish💚

My favourite DK yet

What an excellent book from Dorothy. I've always loved her books but this one definitely stands out especially with the world as it is now. The narration was perfect. 10/10 would definitely recommend this book.

Boring and confusing

I love Dorothy, every one of her books are amazing and can’t recommend them enough.
This one, I’ve given up. The story is too far fetched to be believable, just nonsense and it dragged on.

Not For me

I was really disappointed with this story it started off so well, then it was just ridiculous the whole story and the main character was very annoying and repeated herself numerous times throughout the whole book, This could off been told half the time it was told in and no real suspense, very disappointed over all with this book.

Disappointing

I've read or listened to every previous Dorothy Koomson book and got this on release date. Perhaps my expectations were too high but I have been really disappointed by this one. The character development shown in prior works was utterly lacking and I found myself to be disinterested in the outcome. I wasn't rooting for any of the characters, apart from maybe Brandee. She could have been an interesting person in the plot but her role in the story seemed to be purely for exposition purposes which became tiresome after a while.
I listened to the end as I was hoping for some improvement or reveal that would make the whole novel "click" but it just didn't work for me. I found myself wondering at several points if it was an abridged recording as that would have made sense of the disjointed feeling but no.
The narration was good, though the credits at end have several corrections left in which always seems unprofessional. This didn't affect the story however.
