Summary

The latest mind-blowing novel from award-winning author Christopher Edge, Escape Room is a thrilling adventure that challenges listeners to think about what they’ve done to save the world today.

When 12-year-old Ami arrives at The Escape, she thinks it’s just a game - the ultimate escape room with puzzles and challenges to beat before time runs out. Meeting her teammates, Adjoa, Ibrahim, Oscar and Min, Ami learns from the Host that they have been chosen to save the world and that they must work together to find the Answer. But as he locks them inside the first room, they quickly realise this is no ordinary game.

From a cavernous library of dust to an ancient Mayan tomb, a deserted shopping mall stalked by extinct animals to the command module of a spaceship heading to Mars, the perils of The Escape seem endless. Can Ami and her friends find the Answer before it’s too late?

It’s amazing

I think it’s good for everyone but you should only listen to it once because you will know the story otherwise

exciting story, horrible ending

i really like doing escape rooms. so i was enthousiastic about this story. there were annoying bits in the story (the way Ami explained stuff) but i chalked this up to it being a childrens or ya book. and i was getting really curious about where it was all going. and then it completely shuts off all my enjoyment by twisting the story to where Ami is suddenly an AI tasked with saving the world, who comes up with the answer that children are the answer to all the world's problems and then suddenly the dead teammates are back and theyre trying to escape their prison to get on the internet???
i bought everything but that ending.

Escape room

This book I read in 3 days. Once the story starts you won’t want to put it down. This happened to me and I thoroughly loved it. All the exciting adventures Amy gods on every 10 or 11 year old will love.

All a little far-fetched

Whilst I appreciate the idea that lies at the heart of this book, I found the chapters somewhat confusing. Perhaps the ultimate message of the book constrains the possibility of creativity.
