Gripping

Such a gripping instalment of the Green Ember series! Our favourite so far. All the favourites feature with many new characters too.

Great book and series, not fab narration

These books by SD Smith are all really exciting and although this book gets a bit darker more full of trouble and injustice and cruelty, it is still full of hope and courage. Worth every page turn....

The narration is overly earnest and the accents and voices didn't really connect with the characters or with me.
I only listened as I was part way through the kindle edition and had to use my hands for cooking but couldn't bear to pause the story (I was that gripped), but I gave up and instead found myself preferring to wait as the narration was irritating. That said, it was read with effort and attention, but it just really didn't work for me.

an excellent book for adults and kids alike

We listened to this book in the car. We have enjoyed it together as a family. The main characters are animals but they are deeply developed and believable as well as relatable. This series of books have excellent themes (working hard, suffering, waiting for joy) that teach kids good things
