About this listen

It's no secret that the church today has lost its influence in culture.

But why? With the technology, affluence, and knowledge we have today, why are we less effective than the first-century church - which didn't have social media or fancy buildings or professional pastors or even religious freedom?

What are we missing?

In this vital, eye-opening book, best-selling author Ed Silvoso digs into Scripture, unearthing Jesus' true design for his church - his Ekklesia. He shows how the early church was a radical, countercultural force of people who transformed the hostile, pagan places in which they lived. Here Dr. Silvoso shows how we, in the midst of the social, economic, political, and moral chaos in our world today, can once again become the revolutionary, transformational, life-giving Ekklesia Jesus called us to be.

Challenging and Revolutionary!

This book is brave enough to ask the questions that should have been raised a long time ago and it goes on to offer insights and solutions!

It's a but of a marathon so I don't advise you Tey to finish this in a day however exciting it may seem. A notepad and pen is advised.

Finally I must point out that the views in this book will be to radical for some to hear even though the heart behind it is Biblical and Godly.
A humble heart and willingness to see the world afresh is advised and you will get the most out of this book.

Engaging, Thoughtful and Challenging

I have this in both kindle and audible. As a Church leader I have asked myself what did Jesus mean when he promised to build His Church. This book has been by far the most helpful in answering my questions. It is based in both good biblical understanding and practice so carries significant weight.

Be ready to have your basic assumptions about Church challenged but not the fundamentals of essential doctrines.

I love the narration in audible and use kindle to take more time over the various issues raised.

What the Church could be...

Ed Silvoso takes us on a journey from Antioch to Asia, from the Middle East to Mexico, from Ephesus to Argentina. This book weaves the principles of Prayer Evangelism and Transformation through a challenge to the Church to become what she is called to be.

Whilst Silvoso speaks with the convictions and experiences of a Pentecostal believer, his passion married to biblical exposition and contemporary narrative makes this a brilliant book to read or listen to.

My soul has been stirred again as an evangelist and leader to believe that the redemption paid for by Christ, and the work of the Holy Spirit in and through His people, will lead to Acts-like demonstrations of God's saving and transforming power , not just for individuals, but for families, communities, towns, cities and nations.

Read this book and let its truth seep into your soul
