Summary

Let the Spirit live inside you!

Are you hungry for an encounter with Jesus? Do you want to make an impact on the world? In this power-packed book, Bill Johnson discusses how you can be a person who hosts the Presence of God. Though all believers obviously have the Spirit of God within them, there is more that enables you to be so full that you overflow his Spirit into your world. Take a journey and meet many great prophets and kings from the Old Testament who were known as people of the Presence - people who, in Johnson's words, "God wanted to be with". In this succinct and powerful book, Johnson encourages you toward a pursuit of the Presence of God above all else. In this book, you will discover:

  • How to pay attention to the Holy Spirit and respond to him.
  • How the Holy Spirit manifests himself.
  • Biblical figures who were hungry for more of God's Spirit and learned to host him.
  • Stories of Presence-filled revivalists and personal encounters with the Presence!

Bill Johnson writes: "We are enabled to partner with the Kingdom of Heaven and see it released here on earth! The Presence of God within us will bring reformation to the world around us - encountering a loving God!" Host more of him today!

Hard to follow the audio

I feel this is a really great book with really good content and lots to take in. I love and agree with the majority of it however I really struggled to follow the reader of the audiobook. Perhaps it would have been easier to follow had someone who was actually interested in the subject read the audiobook or even Bill himself. If you stick with it though and really concentrate on the content its is a brilliant book! Someone with more passion for the subject could really have delivered this so much better and done the book so much more justice.

life changing

as ever Bill shares how he hosts God's presence and makes it available to every believer in Jesus. Happy to report no theological terminology or complex concepts. Just a simple approach to the gospel and how anyone can be God's dwelling place. To God be the glory

Poor narration

This is excellent book, however the narration at times is woeful. It's not just the words that were mispronounced but also the words that were
missed out. I love the book so I bought the kindle edition stop listening to this.

Awful narrator spoils deep message

This narrator should be sacked! I almost wanted to return the book!

Examples of poor pronunciation include:

Ephesus for Ephesians
Extra- vague-ant for extravagant
Sal for Saul
Breni for Beni Johnson
Prophecy for prophesy

This such a shame as this is a deep and meaningful teaching from Bill Johnson.

Poorly narrated

I’m sure this book is great, however I was totally distracted by the poor narration. Many times the narrator mispronounced words and his delivery of the text frequently showed that he wasn’t really understanding what it was all about. So disappointing that I nearly cancelled my audible subscription altogether. :(

Hosting the Presence!!!

This book is about encountering the very presence of the Holy Spirit, by co-labouring with Him. I have to re-read this book as there are so many key nuggets in there it’s hard to understand all in one hit. If you want a life changing experience with Gods presence and do things ms Gods way. I highly recommend picking up this book and reading. Again and again and again

Life changing

This book requires multiple reads to get the most out of it, and it is worth it. In these pages are secrets to the kingdom which if we will take seriously will change so many lives.

This book speaks to the heart of believers.

The narrow road is hard for all of us. This book really helped me think through the many obstacles and traps we face, but most of all it directs our focus back to Jesus.

Great content, less-than-desirable reading.

Where does Hosting the Presence rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

As always Bill's content was wonderful, but I was so easily distracted by the pronunciations and the reading. Very dry and confusing for me.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Very dry. No touch of excitement or any emotion where it would have been very helpful to keep one engaged and awake.

Great Content, Narrator Ruins It

I bought this book as an accompaniment to the physical copy. I’m glad I’m not just relying on this audio version because it does NOT compare to actually reading the book. The narrator talks SO fast that it was super difficult to keep up and really get a good grasp on the richness of Bill Johnson’s words. I slowed it down to .75x and it was way more tolerable, but the variations from the physical copy , along with constant mispronunciations of words and common biblical names and phrases was distracting. I plan on getting my credit back for this one.

Great message but Pathetic Narrator

It was difficult to listen to this book read by someone who has a nice voice but who mangled Biblical words like 'prophetized' instead of prophesied and said that Paul wrote to the people in 'Ephesius.' There were many such examples. However Bill Johnson's message was great and definitely worth putting up with the awkwardness of the narrator who is probably excellent when he is reading about something that he knows and understands.

Narration not the best

The book itself is absolutely incredible!

The Narrator on many occasions, read the word “Prophesied” as “Phrophsized” but on other occasions read it correctly, it is incredibly annoying.

Amazing

An awesome book. If listening to it doesn't stir in you the hunger for an awakening inside of you, then very little else will. The narrator was really good and spoke in almost the same tone as Bill Johnson does, which was great.
