Summary

Three years ago, Lift asked a goddess to stop her from growing older - a wish she believed was granted.

Now, in Edgedancer, the barely teenage nascent Knight Radiant finds that time stands still for no one. Although the young Azish emperor granted her safe haven from an executioner she knows only as Darkness, court life is suffocating the free-spirited Lift, who can't help heading to Yeddaw when she hears the relentless Darkness is there hunting people like her with budding powers.

The downtrodden in Yeddaw have no champion, and Lift knows she must seize this awesome responsibility.

A light read in between books!

This novel offers a new, interesting perspective through the eyes of Lyft, who is a dramatically different person than previous main characters in the main series. I thoroughly enjoyed it and have only given the story 4 stars because previous books have set an incredibly high standard.

A masterclass in vetting characters for use.

This book is excellent, and with the authors notes at the end, becomes truly incredible.

A lighter every in the Stormlight Archive series

Edgedancer walks a fine line between the dark backdrop of the world of Stormlight Archive and the light-hearted, almost goofy nature of Lift. Uplifting, one could say...

Another great book

I've read all of Sanderson's books and this be felt very different and I really enjoyed it. Written from the view point if a child, it made for a funny yet sometimes frustrating storyline!! Lift is clearly smarter than she likes for people to know. i really look forward to hearing about how she develops as she learns more about her powers and the way if the world!

worth a read

but much weaker than the main books. I think the focus on one character's point of view perhaps makes it a bit tiring, lyft is also a bit overbearing but does become much more likeable by the end.

Great fun

She's a refreshingly different protagonist but I want to avoid spoilers so let's just leave it at that and instead I urge others to not skip this novella when working through the archive...

Worth it's credit!

Brilliant little short story, definitely worth it's credit. If you love the Stormlight Archive, then it's well worth a read and though not mandatory reading for the story itself.
Still an excellent read and serves it's purpose of filling in gaps and giving lift some more much deserved screen time! and it does that well!
