About this listen

Ken and company embark on their first raid. Despite Ken’s powerful [Liminal Speed] not all the boss fights are accommodating and the Haylon raid party must learn to work together in perfect concert.

Prince Albar is unsatisfied with his defeat and plots to take down Ken and Elysara despite their Royal Censor guards.

Yet, neither of them are prepared for the shakeup in the dungeon. All of the safety nets they’ve been training over are about to disappear.

Love the series, but a huge dissapointment that they changed readers, all the voices and personalities were done so well before, now it feels more like they all sound the same and i lost alot of the personalities, still a great book!

Great as always

good story, but it's a shame that Rosline and Lewis didn't voiced this book like the 6 others but a good overall performance 😃👍

Good book, great voice actors, both do an amazing job and Bruce keeps the writing solid on this one

Great read

The story is as good as ever. The issue is the female voice actor. The elves have become scottish/australian for some reason, the 'succubus' character no longer sounds seductive and talks with a weird german/swiss accent 'vee all blew our cool down downs on zee last von' is a good example. the 'bubbly' and 'hyperactive' bard character sounds more subdued and 'disinterested' than anything. So on and so forth. its the same for all the female voices, Some of them sound so similar it's hard to distinguish between them. It feels like the voice actor either didn't get a solid handle on the characters before doing the voice acting.

For anyone reading this after they swapped all the books to the new authors, it was originally voiced by Lewis Alexander and Rozelyn Rader.

On the the male voice actor didn't mess up to hard. prince albar sounds like the slimy git he is. My only real complaint is sometimes Ken sounds more like a 16 year old who's trying to not embarrass himself when he's a 19 year old trained assassin. He whispers 'naughty' words in in his own inner monologs. Its a little weird. however, He can't pronounce certain words yoroi for example goes from 'Yoh-roy' to 'uer-o-ee' which made me double take when it was first said. Another example of name he got wrong is maken (not sure how you spell it,) but originaly it was pronounced 'mack-en' its now pronounced 'match-on' as if trying to light a match.

I do hope they go back to the old voice actors.

The female actor is underwhelming.

So i've never ever really been able to overcome and enjoy a series which i've listened to for several books, where they switch narrators and not sure i will this time. I love Chris and Jessica they are among my favorite narrators... BUT for the last 6 or so books i've gotten used to Lewis and Rozelyn which are also very good. So ye, this Audiobook was alot less enjoyable to me than the prior ones since i could barely recognize some of the characters anymore. Kudos to whoever it was who decided to redo the whole series with Jessica and Chris, that way new listeners wont have this issue. But to me rebuying the whole series and relistening to it just to get the characters all synced just isn't worth it.

Story and performance was great thou, i love where this book seems to be heading/hinting at.

Good, but new narrators....
