Summary
After tragedy robs her of everyone she loves, Jeannette Mason retreats to the tiny Oregon seaside town of Hope Harbor to create a new life. Vowing to avoid emotional attachments, she focuses on running her lavender farm and tea-room - until a new neighbor with a destructive dog and a forlorn little girl invades her turf. But she needn't worry. Dr. Logan West is too busy coping with an unexpected family, a radical lifestyle change, and an unruly pup to have any interest in his aloof and disagreeable neighbor.
Yet when both Jeanette and Logan find themselves pulled into the life of a tattered Christian family fleeing persecution in war-torn Syria, might they discover that love sometimes comes calling when it's least expected?
Best-selling and award-winning author Irene Hannon invites listeners back to the charming seaside town of Hope Harbor, where they are sure to find peace, healing, and a second chance at happiness.

Excellent story; Supreme Narration!
The story was very enjoyable with the right amount of description, dialogue, etc. It was very reminiscent of stories by Robyn Carr, but from a bit more socially conservative bent (no sex scenes).
The narrator is the best I’ve ever heard. I LOOK for books narrated by Therese Plummer. She has excellent voices for the different characters... appropriate accents- without being over the top, great children’s voices- without being whiny, a pleasant overall tone that is easy to hear and a perfect cadence- not too slow, not too fast!

A note to the author...
I enjoyed the storyline; however, I was more excited by the potential of the storyline. Skittish, sappy female characters are so over. One can only hear the same crying story so many times before one wants to eliminate the character. That's how I felt about the female character. She was so whiny and skittish. Another dislike: an author who imparts her own religious understandings to her readers. To the author: Of course pets go to heaven! They have souls. Quoting the bible to convince your readers that it's pretty clear our pets don't go to heaven because they were not made in the image of God...well, that's lame. Maybe it wasn't the physical body that was meant by "in the image of God," Perhaps it was the soul being referenced. Perhaps it's our souls that are in the image of God...and we all know that pets have souls. I don't mind the spiritual undertones in a book, but I do mind the bible-thumping that takes place.

Thought Provoking Story -- Excellent Narration!
Driftwood Bay by Irene Hannon -- As far as I am concerned, Irene Hannon has hit a winning home run -- again! Luv this author and her Christian stories and this is one that I will listen to again and again, as I do so with many of her stories. And, Therese Plummer, as always, does an excellent job bringing this story to life. A very gifted author and an equally gifted narrator!

Parallel yet converging characters
Driftwood bay is a very interesting and compelling story about parallel yet converging characters: Each of whom have their own challenges in life and how they converge to work through their issues. Well done

Too predictable
Too religious! I would prefer to know this about a novel before purchasing and listening to it.
A miss for me.

Beautiful Story of Love Lost and Found Again
Tired of secular stories full of steamy sex but lacking depth and mention of God? Then you need to read this beautiful novel! It will make you feel as if you were actually there living life with them. (Well…okay, it made ME feel that way). I loved how God was included and attending church was not an afterthought. I loved the romance and how details about the characters were slowly exposed and dealt with. AND I absolutely loved the fairytale ending. This is a keeper and I highly recommend anyone reading it. #God #romance #uplifting
