riveting storyline
I loved the self discovery that BO records in the book. the attempt at doing the KE accent was hilarious

Great book orated by an even greater writer and story-teller
Obama’s oration belies the intensity of the book and sometimes the pain that he communicates.
Everyone should get this book. He represents humanity not just black nor just white or even mixed race people.
He is one of us! Inspiring book.

Twice read
I enjoyed Obama reading this book so much that I read it twice in case I had missed part of it during the night! I thought the last few chapters relating to Kenya were of particular interest as it was less well known . His voice was so clear and easy to listen to, so I would definitely recommend reading or listening to this fine book.

I could listen to Barack all day!
Great to listen to as he is such a good story teller but sadly the content just didn't grab me.
I have listened all the way through and parts were interesting and other parts surprising but I feel on the whole it was a bit slow.
it will not put me off listening to his other books as I do find him to be an interesting person just perhaps some of his later work may suit me better

Didn't grab me as much as I would have expected or liked!
Unfortunately I have to second another Amazon customer who wrote that despite Barack Obama having a fantastic voice and being a very interesting man, the material didn't grab them. I felt the same. it was interesting to a certain degree and I am glad I have had a chance to get to know this man a bit better but found that the book didn't really grab me, my mind kept wandering but I like the other reader, it won't stop me from reading another book of his. I have to say though he attempt at an English accent made me laugh :)
