Summary
An explosive, unforgettable thriller from Jo Spain!
For one week, everything in Luke Miller's life is perfect. Surprised with a belated honeymoon by his wife, Rose, he's had seven days with her in a Caribbean paradise. It's more than he ever thought he'd deserve.
But as they pack their bags, Rose breaks down, confessing that on the day they left London, a violent man from her past tracked her down and broke into their home. He wasn't expecting her to fight back. And, in her terror, Rose killed him. Now there's a dead body in Luke's apartment, and only one person he can think to turn to.
Mickey Sheils never expected to hear from Luke again, not after he disappeared the first time. Luke knows Mickey can't deny a woman who needs help, so she promises she'll deal with things - she'll make sure Rose doesn't have to keep running.
But it turns out, some lies are too big to run from.

Disappointed
I have loved and looked forward to listening to all Jo Spain’s books but I personally didn’t connect with this one as much. Loved the idea of it but something didn’t make me want to keep listening.
I did finish it, but would not recommend to a friend which is what a review really comes down to.

Disappointed - not at same level as previous books
I was so excited and had been waiting for Jo’s latest book for months and I bought it the minute it came out but it was a let down. Some of the accents were awful and the story was ok but it just didn’t all come together and enthrall me in any way.

Good but not great
Not Jo's best book, but it's still enjoyable. I liked the twists and turns, I wanted to keep listening. The narrator was great with the exception of Lukes voice, it'was really hard to listen to. The ending was slightly predictable.

A bit long drawn out
The storyline was really good, but I felt it was longer than necessary… the narration was fine but the male voices I found really irritating

Didn’t enjoy this at all
Really wanted to like this as have enjoyed other books by this author. But I didn’t and wish I’d given up part way through as it didn’t get better. Didn’t like the narrator or the story. So many cliches.

Big disappointment
The plot was far-fetched and the story just wasn’t as good as Jo Spains other books (which I have really enjoyed). Even the usually excellent narration by Aoife McMahon was wooden for several of the male characters including Luke.

Great story
I really enjoyed this book. I love a book with twists at the end and this book has it.
The narrator Aoife McMahon is so good I’ve started searching for books she narrated.

AMAZING
I took a chance on a Jo Spain novel on sale a while ago and am so glad I did. Most of the sale audiobooks I have bought, I’ve either had trouble getting into or never got excited enough to give them a go. This is my second Jo Spain novel and it’s worth every penny I wasted on the other sale books.
Jo has a beautifully fluid and engaging writing style that pulls you in right from the start. Her characters seem so real, that you can’t help feeling for them despite their flaws which Jo crafts with real feeling and understanding.
The production values are exceptionally high and the narrator has a beautifully melodic voice that seems to glide effortlessly through the narrative.
I can’t recommend this book enough.

Another good Jo Spain book
Couldn’t see where this was going to go and like it. It took me longer than other books by Jo to get into but when I did it was intriguing.
