About this listen
Jasper
The kitchen: it's my domain, where I create the best burgers in the Midwest. I'm the man behind the grill at Burgers and Brew, the restaurant and bar I co-own with my best friends. Every night, we're packed, the demand has never been this high. It's the only way I want it, thriving and pushing myself to be the very best.
Then she started her new business across the street from mine.
The one woman who always got under my skin, who pushed me to be better. Lyndee was my biggest rival in school and my biggest regret.
Now, she's in town, and as much as I try, I just can't stay away.
I want her.
Lyndee
A new start: that's what Stewart Grove means for me and my brother. He's the one who pushed me to take the chance on opening my own bakery. I am ready for the long hours, the grueling schedule, and the hard work it will take to be successful.
I wasn't at all prepared to come face-to-face with the man across the street.
An almost kiss in college with the world's most infuriating man has haunted me for the last decade. Now Jasper's here, and I don't think I can resist him.
Things are about to heat up in and out of the kitchen.
I just pray I don't get burned.

Jasper and Lyndee go on to reconnect while Lyndee opens her restaurant and Jasper has a great relationship with Lyndee's brother that lives with her. They form a friendship which always has an undercurrent of something more.
Overall the story was pretty mellow with Lyndee making friends with the guys and ladies in Jasper's friend group and Jasper and Lyndee's relationship growing more and more. I struggled a bit with the drama/conflict that unfolded towards the end of the book. It seemed somewhat unrealistic and I don't think it added anything to the story, and it seemed to be forgotton about rather quickly.
I absolutely loved the first book in this story, but this one definitely lacked something. The narrators did a great job withe the narration, but I found myself lacking interest at times. I am intersted to still read the next book in the series as I generally enjoy this author's books. PinkFlamingoProductions TheFlockVIPReviewTeam

🎧📚🎧 Lexi Evans and Scott Rose did an amazing job voicing these characters, humanizing them with their personality and were believable in their roles. Evan was fabulous in Lyndee’s role and delivered a perfect portrayal, sweet, determined and fierce, and Rose was just as fabulous in Jasper’s role, with angst and attitude, as well as his caring side. Both were fantastic performing the roles of the secondary characters too, including Dustin. They set the right tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These two made a great team, with voices and talent that complement each other and an entertaining performance that takes the story to another level.

When Jasper and Lyndee were at culinary school they had a strong rivalry. Years later Jasper finds out that Lyndee was opening a bakery across the street from the pub. Lyndee is a fierce and feisty, loyal, hardworking and she’s taking care of her disabled brother. She is not going to allow Jasper stop her dream of owning her own bakery is her lifelong dream. The chemistry between Jasper and Lyndee is off the charts. Both pushing the other and trying to stop the unspoken sparks.
Humour, steam, drama and great characters.
