What if you realized the book you were reading was all about you? Disclaimer stealthily steals your attention and by the end holds you prisoner - a searing story that resonates long after the final words.
"The best thriller I've read this year." (Rosamund Lupton, best-selling author of Sister)
When an intriguing novel appears on Catherine's bedside table, she curls up in bed and begins to read. But as she turns the pages, she is sickened to realize the story will reveal her darkest secret. A secret she thought no one else knew....

Engaging suspense novel
Despite the initial premise not sounding too promising, this was actually a very gripping suspense story. An easy read, not too many characters. The story jumps back and forth between 2013 and 1993, and between the perspective of two different narrators as the full story is revealed. A little slow to get going perhaps until we finally learn what is in the book that Catherine is reading. After that there are numerous twists and turns. They keep on coming right up to the very end. Our ideas of who are the good guys and who the bad, keep changing - as they should in a suspense novel. The reading is well performed, only "he" perhaps doesn't sound old enough, and "she" who should actually be a strong woman, sounds a little soft and gushing.

A very compelling listen!
This has go to be one of the best audio books I have listened to! The narration was spot on Mr Pennington and Laura Paton were both very convincing. I found the story quite dark and I got really caught up in it - in fact I've found myself thinking about it after I finished it. There a few negative comments on here about Disclaimer and I think that they're being overly critical - so please don't be put off by them. I've been listening to this book while driving to work and can honestly say that I haven't looked forward to the commute so much for a long time. Finally, I'd like to say to Renée Knight - Excellent work - I loved it!!

Even better than The Girl On The Train!
I thought it would be impossible to find a better 2014 thriller than The Girl On The Train...but Disclaimer managed it. Superb narration performances too.

Compelling story and clever writing
I loved every minute of this audio book and thought about the story long after listening to an extract. The story is full of twists and turns and I enjoyed the device of alternating narrators/perspectives. The readers were fantastic and immediately believable and persuasive. I heard the novel being discussed with the author on Jo Goods BBC London show and was so intrigued I signed up for the free Audible trial (and I am so impressed with the ease of application and quality of recording that I plan to become a member.) Ms Knight should be immensely proud of her novel. I'm already looking forward to watching the film.
