Summary

Decluttering your digital life and finding peace and calmness

Do you often find yourself with racing thoughts, trouble focusing on one task, and always checking your emails, texts, and Facebook messages, as if you may miss out on something?

Do you feel like your personal happiness is decreasing with time because of all the digital overhead and tech clutter that seems absolutely necessary to have?

Do you wonder what it would be like to be able to get back to a time when you really could focus on what you really want to do, your passions, hobbies, and being in the present moment?

Look at it this way - when you’re out with your partner or a close friend, do you become annoyed at them because they always seem to be on their phone? You’ve come out to eat a meal together and spend quality time, but he or she is messaging someone far away, or checking the latest news online, perhaps scrolling through Instagram.

This is such a very common occurrence these days. We lose sight of the relationships or events which are right in front of us, because we’re too busy living in a digital world, one that doesn’t actually exist.

We don’t see the beauty of the things around us because we’re too busy staring at a small piece of plastic which connects us to what we think is the "world". If only the millennial could understand that it’s not the world, it’s a virtual reality that they’re choosing to plug into.

When you choose to be a "digital minimalist", you give yourself the power to open your eyes to the wonder of nature, the beauty all around you, and you can dedicate time to the important things and relationships in your life.

In this audiobook, you will learn how to do this by:

  • Starting with the absolute 80/20 things to eliminate and keep.
  • Finding ways to automate repetitive tasks with very little oversight.
  • How to properly do a "digital detox".

Slow down, smell the world! Download your copy of Digital Minimalism now.

Extreme Minimalism

At first, I just couldn’t agree with living with just 5 shirts because that was my idea of minimalism. I didn't know about the importance of decluttering. I'm really glad I read this. Time to switch to a new lifestyle! Great job!

This book is amazing!

This should be mandatory reading in today's workforce.. I especially recommend this book to college students. Even if you’re well listening on the topics of Digital Minimalism, you will still find something worth taking away from this book.

I listen to this audiobook

I thought it was cool how the authors would add in their listen to go to their help promote their work so they can largely influence more people. It had all seemed too familiar to be listening about. I would've preferred to see their perspective as to what is a subculture meant to them.

Wow

I chose minimalism because I was interested in lifestyle before reading. As soon as I started the book, I knew I wouldn't be able to quit. I spent hours reading and highlighting. I highlighted parts that were important to me and made me reflect on my life, so I underlined the entire book. For me, this will not be a single reading. This is one to review from time to time to see how your perspective on life has changed and what you can work on.

GOOD ONE

This is a big deal for me because even though I love, I am dyslexic and I usually get frustrated and quit around now but I am invested. It's simple to read, the sections aren't long, so not only do I feel educated, but I feel accomplished after each one which makes me wanna keep going.

This is well written and organized.

It outlines what minimalism is, and it is much different than what I thought going in. It's not about living off the least things possible but more about getting stuff out of your life that doesn't have a purpose. This is well written and organized. It is an easy read, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to improve their life in any way.

I enjoyed this book.

It provides excellent insight into what's essential in life, and how valuable it is to have less and live more. Very relatable, easy to read. I highlighted passages as I went along, and would recommend re-listening, as the lessons are applicable in all aspects of your life. I have been trying to implement what I have learned while reading this book and have already experienced a difference for the better. Great listen!

This is an excellent book

This a great book if you're looking into or stepping into this new minimal lifestyle. It's a great start to into getting ready to start living life with more meaning. It isn't meant to depict, especially what to do or how to do it. It's intended to briefly describe how they got started and how you can too. It is an easy read, and I think slightly insightful. This is an excellent book for taking notes and reflecting on how you might want to start your new journey.

I highly recommend it!

The information and the small exercises that derive from it are easy to follow, clean and concise. Although there have been some things with which I do not partially agree, I am happy to have the opportunity to think and consider my positions in various areas of my life that may or may not need to be minimized. So far, this book has been excellent, and I can't wait to do the rest.

Worth Listening

Highly recommended. Such solid info and great advice for using technology to support a deeply valued life instead of turning overall control of our time to our devices.
