About this listen
In 1985, Charles Ng and Leonard Lake were spotted shoplifting. Ng escaped, but Lake's capture led police to a concrete bunker in the Sierra Nevada foothills, where they discovered the grisly evidence of an orgy of sex crimes, torture, and murder that claimed at least 16 victims. Lake committed suicide: Ng fled to Canada, where he was tracked down and extradited to California. This 14-year, $10 million legal case was the costliest and longest criminal prosecution in California history.

Ng and lake
This book has lots of descriptive details that some folks may get up set about but they were serial killers. Book was ok but way way to much stuff bought Ng’s court case and subsequent games he played trying to evade the legal process. Was read well.

I enjoyed this book.
I enjoyed this book, it was very detailed, and was very court heavy (which I really like)

Fascinating
A fascinating insight into these crimes. I thought the narrator was excellent and the courtroom section not too drawn out as can sometimes be the case in true crime books.

So gripping I listened in 2 settings
If you like true crime you will love this. Excellently narrated in a way that keeps you guessing right until the end. I was familiar with this case through numerous podcasts way back and to hear the whole story made this case even more jaw dropping.

interesting
I found how they both tried to get away with the murders fascinating.
I did struggle with the style and the narrator. There was too much unnecessary details, background information and scene setting. The narrator's voice was such that I often mentally drifted off, I really had to focus.

Good
Not bad but not much detail. There wasn't much explanation of what happened to them
