Summary
From its beginnings as a human-alien story of first contact, the Foreigner series has become a true science fiction odyssey. The ninth book in the epic series, and the third book in the third Foreigner trilogy, Deliverer is a worthy contribution to Cherryh's magnum opus that is destined to be a classic.
The odyssey continues - the epic tale of the survivors of a spacecraft that crash-landed on a planet inhabited by a hostile, sentient alien race. Now in the aftermath of a civil war, the world of the atevi is still perilously unstable. As atevi and humans seek to coexist in peace, the fragility of the situation worsens as the world of the atevi is further fragmented into different camps.

just keeps getting better!
I am amazed at this author's ability to weave incredibly intricate patterns around the thinking of vastly diverse cultural memes. if we ever discover other intelligent alien species , CJ Cherry's work on this series will prove, I'm sure, to be profoundly useful. but this is by no means a purely intellectual exploration. it is filled with intrigue, Danger, heroism, and lots of action.

The narator brought the story to life.
Listening to this third volume first I was lost a lot of the time. The narrator was excelent. You could feel the character's fear and impotence in the face of an alien enviornment. I will definitly try the first volume to better understand the alien society. It was facinating if bewildering. Read the first volume first.

Outstanding story! Highly satisfying!
The 9th book in this series and they keep getting better and better. Very exciting and very satisfying. I have so enjoyed each succeeding story culminating with the final story in this sequence. More politics, intrigue, and Bren Cameron continues to be the central figure in this saga. Daniel May does another wonderful job narrating this story. Warm, amusing, consistent, simply outstanding. Experience these stories in sequence. You will not be disappointed. Bren saves the day once again. Well done in every aspect.

Excellent Story, Narration Suffered In One Area
This review is for the audible version of this book. “Deliverer” is a well written conclusion to another great trilogy by C. J. Cherryh. The performance was almost great, with one exception. The previous eight books in this series are written from the viewpoint of the main character, Bren Cameron. However, the author changes things up a bit in this book. The narration often switches between two characters, Bren and occasionally Cajeiri the son of Tabini. The problem is, the narrator provides no clear indication that he has switched characters. The same voice is used and there is no break or pause in between. This made things very confusing on more than one occasion. Despite that, I highly recommend this book.

Cajeiri is missing - kidnapped! The narrator was incredible, changing voices constantly in one sentence!

another great book in the series
a complex story with some fun twists and turns, the author does give some background of the previous context of the overall story Arch but I really think it behooves you to read the earlier works in order to really appreciate the story itself. the performance was outstanding and the characterizations were very well done by the audio actor.
