Summary
The sound of a cord snapping abruptly ends her climb, leaving her stranded as an arctic storm bears down. Can Asher find his mate before she freezes to death?
Nicole is done with men. Her husband left her for a thinner and younger model and never looked back. She has worked hard to be an independent, successful woman without a man. Although she is still a curvy woman, she is healthy and loves outdoor activities. Climbing Pyramid Mountain is the next adventure on her list of things she wants to accomplish. Unfortunately, something has happened and Nicole has activated it.

Old fashioned
This book was just ok. It was written in an old fashioned, TV show whodunit, cutesy way with a plot which was not believable. Spice was meh, with a focus on spanking.
First time reading from this author, but the book has a lot of different histories embedded in the story which indicates connections to other books/storylines. Fair enough the author is trying to sell other books, but I would have preferred if they weren't included because all these different side stories were rushed in at the end of the book and were not a necessity for the main story. Good narration though.

Another brilliant book from the author Delta James. The narrator is new to me and is a truly wonderful find. He made the characters totally come to life and the way he changed his voice from one to another was excellent. Can’t wait until the next Delta James is released

Defiant Mate
This is a great beginning to a new series that makes me want to go to Alaska ;). This book had plenty of action and wonderful romance. Although I miss JT Farrell, Dan Levy did a great job with the narration. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Meh
The story was ok. I don’t regret getting the audiobook but I won’t purchase anything else this author has written. It wasn’t bad, just not my cup of tea. Spoiler alert. If a guy spanked me I’d slap him; so when the female protagonists was ok with being “disciplined” I wanted to smack them both. Like I said, not my cup of tea.

Very good story
I like that the narrator was smooth throughout the read. The story had very good transitions and kept me interested. Definitely a good read.

Loved It!
What a great beginning to a series, I loved the backdrop of Alaska definitely makes it fun. This is a good paranormal lots of steam, tons of adventure.

Off to Alaska
We’re going to Alaska! Mystic River is a place where shifters live freely. The reason they live in peace is because humans are far and few between. Humans don’t come often this far north, especially in winter when temperatures dare even bear shifters to leave their fires.
Nicole was ready for adventure! A solo climb was the pinnacle of her Northern trek. First find venues for her business venture, then climb Pyramid Mountain. Easy Peasy…. Not really! Asher warned Nicole about the danger. What she doesn’t know is what happens after the danger will be worse!
I love this new series! Alaska is so beautiful! I can’t wait for the next book!
Delta did an amazing job pulling everything together, Dan did a great job narrating! Another winner!!

Filled with action, adventure, heart-wrenching twists and the most erotic romance, this should come with a warning about how fabulous this is.
