About this listen

THERE'S BLOOD ON THE WATER. NO ONE IS SAFE...

1999. A young Detective Constable Louise Mangan crosses the Thames one misty morning in pursuit of a killer. She finds a tranquil community on a leafy island close to Hampton Court Palace, but soon realises that all is not as it seems. There is something evil at play in this quiet suburb, and this junior detective's questions seem only to scratch the surface.

Twenty years later, a horrific fire brings Detective Chief Superintendent Mangan back to that same island. Soon, she discovers that murder was just a drop in these dark waters.

The river runs deep, and the tide is rising at last. Will the truth rise with it?

this was an absorbing read not a dull moment anywhere and the fact that I know the author from his union days

brilliant flow of the plot

I surprised myself by thoroughly enjoying this book, I wasn’t holding out much hope, as I had purchased it in error..

Great characters

Another great story with Louise Mangan centre stage! I do hope she hasn’t retired! Just a word Mr Johnson- please stop referring to vicars as Reverend X. Reverend Christian name X or Mr/Dr X is correct!

Fast paced, many layered thriller

I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the characters were totally believable, maybe the twist at the end about who Jack Handiside really was seemed a little far fetched.

The third in the series, doesn’t disappoint!

I came in straight on book 4 and I think I should have read 1-3. The book was all over the place. It’s a good story but it didn’t flow 😬

Should have read 1-3

Disliked the abrupt change from 1999 to 2019 without any lead in. Plots rather too far-fetched

Temporal disconnect:
