Summary

An all new digital audio edition of DEATH ON THE NILE narrated by Kenneth Branagh, director and star of 20th Century Studios’ upcoming Death on the Nile feature film.

The tranquillity of a cruise along the Nile is shattered by the discovery that Linnet Ridgeway has been shot through the head. She was young, stylish and beautiful, a girl who had everything – until she lost her life.

Hercule Poirot recalls an earlier outburst by a fellow passenger: ‘I’d like to put my dear little pistol against her head and just press the trigger.’ Yet in this exotic setting nothing is ever quite what it seems…

Kenneth Branagh reprises both his directorial role and that of the iconic detective in the upcoming film adaptation of Death on the Nile. Listen to the book now, and see the thrilling mystery come to life on the big screen soon!

Death on the Nile

Kenneth Branagh is brilliant. He is superb at the most subtle intonations . This was yet another narration that has helped me through a very difficult time.

Wonderful rendition

Kenneth Brannagh is wonderful to listen to, I hope he does more.
He does a great impression of Poirot and you can tell the characters apart. Very good

One of the best audio books I’ve listened to

I wanted to read this book before the movie came out and saw that the actor who plays Poirot actually narrated this.

And I must say, this is was the best audio book I’ve ever listened to!
Brilliant performance, voice tone, the accents, the pace, all of it.
It’s almost like watching a movie that lasts 8 or so hours, absolutely fabulous.

I recommend immensely you listen to it, it is a fully immersive and fantastic experience. Bravo!

Loved the Orient Express movie and absolutely cannot wait for this movie to come out. Thank you so so much Mr. Branagh, please read more Poirot books and, hopefully!, make more Poirot movies!

"Do not open your heart to evil."

Agatha Christie does write some deliciously contrived and convoluted plots, and this, like Murder on the Orient Express, is one of the best. However, she always seems rather two dimensional to this rrader, which is why viewing the stories as films is always so much more satisfuing. But best of all - a superb narration which still leaves the pictures to the reader's imagination whilst fleshing out the protagonists into fully developed characters by verbal nuances, expression and tonal variation. And Kenneth Branagh's performance supplies it all.
Brilliantly sparkling (and strangely reminiscent of Noel Coward) .
The best Poirot I have heard.

A really good listen

I really like this version read by Kenneth Branagh. He really does a good voice for Poirot and his other characters voices are excellent.
I hope Harper Collins update some of the other stories that have been read by some of the female narrator's, as not all of them have narrated to the same level as Hugh Fraser, David Suchet and now Kenneth Branagh. ie Murder in Mesopotamia.

This story is based around a woman scorned and we all know the wrath they can possess and how to deal it out.
But as the plot proceeds and all the characters become entwined into the story set before us... Do we really know what the outcome will be at the end of The Nile?

Brilliantly narrated

The book has far more about it than the films that have been made. It was brilliantly narrated by Kenneth Branagh using all his talent with the voices and pace of speech

Enjoyable

Despite already being familiar with the story, I still enjoyed hearing this ingenious who-dunnit read aloud. Kenneth Branagh is a great narrator.

Kenneth Branagh should be reading all of the Agatha Christie books. Amazing and thrilling story as per usual.
