About this listen

Ben Riker devoted himself to protecting his family when the EMP was detonated. Since that day, he has fought, scavenged, and clawed his way back from the brink of death. And as the end of a war with the enemy responsible for the country’s devastation draws nearer, Ben wonders if he can outlast the fight that has claimed so many lives.

Both this author and narrator are my go to for just relaxing and taking time out, they really create the world that I can escape to which they do. This book was different, which I didn't think was possible given the number of books that I have read/listened to in this genre. At first I wasn't sure where it was going and if I missed a previous book but then it all kicked in and I got it. It was then a straight listen and I really enjoyed it.
