About this listen
"I wish this day would never end" - One heart's desire leads to a tumultuous journey for an unlikely pair.
Keenan, a guide at Daylight Chasers, is hired to lead Isabella through a day that "nearly" never ends. As the top agent, he excels at calming the excitable and inspiring the timid, as they journey across the globe one time zone at a time. Despite his years of experience, Keenan soon realizes that he is going to need a lot more than his familiar script when it comes to Isabella's expedition.
When the planned activities all start going south, Keenan finds himself struggling to respond to Isabella's mercurial moods. With each adventure sending them further from the planned path, Keenan begins to wonder how can he be the guide when even he is feeling lost?
This short story is a modern fable on mortality, bravery, and acceptance.

Unique & poignant
There are some days you wish would never end. For most, these are the days that are filled with joy. But sometimes there are other, deeper reasons for never wanting the sun to set. Sometimes, you just want to hold on a little bit longer.
In this short, quirky novella, Rue Sparks has created a fun and unique world where the Daylight Chasers will help you live a day filled with the almost impossible, that nearly never ends. The characters are complex for such a short story and deftly drawn, so you feel like you are coming to understand them as they come to understand each other - and themselves. It is a story of joy and grief, courage and mortality, holding on and letting go. It is a poignant exploration of coming to terms with the worst day of your life but it isn’t heavy or over wrought. Instead, it’s like someone gently taking your hand, ready to laugh, cry and just be by your side and you confront the most human of emotions.
A quick, easy and surprisingly uplifting read - I highly recommend it.

Beautiful
"She looks like she could fall apart at a single touch"
Rue Sparks has written a short, sharp novella that is packed to the brim with poignant themes; the fear of losing control, modern obsessions of having to record every event and most importantly, human grief and joy.
Sparks' has lyrically intertwined these themes with magical realism and fantasy elements to create this 'other' world that somehow still feels so much like it's our own.
If you enjoy reading something that is more than what it seems on the surface and leaves you thinking and feeling, then this is a must-read for you!
Gifted: I receive a free copy of the audiobook (beautifully narrated by McKinley Belcher III) from the author for an honest review.

Beautiful and haunting.
I absolutely adored this book. The premise of trying to make a day feel endless by travelling through time zones and going on adventures was fascinating. And the characters' stories were so captivating. I loved how joy and grief were mixed together, and how experience vs observation was explored. The narration was perfect too.
