When Maggie begs to see her husband Sean, the police tell her that he has disappeared. He was last seen on the day of her daughter's funeral.

What really happened that day at the river?
Where is Maggie's husband?
And why can't she shake the suspicion that somewhere, somehow, her daughter is still alive?

Intriguing story!

I very rarely write reviews, however I enjoyed this book I just couldn’t put it down. Without giving too much away the book didn’t end in the way that I’d anticipated.

Enjoyable read

I enjoyed the twist a and turns of this. Sometimes harrowing novel. Ifound myself trying to guess the plot and was surprised by the outcome. An enjoyable read

good twist to the stpry

I found the story was really good with plenty of twists.
The narrator made it hard to listen to. Wasn't very keen on the characters voices. It seemed laboured..

Very drawn out

Most confusing story how could she read letters that she hadn’t received. Well narrated the story line was good but confusing.

Tense, Well Paced and Engrossing!

I always like it when trying a new author hits pay dirt and that's precisely what I got with this one from Nuala Ellwood. She does a fine job of building a mystery with an intriguing snippet of a prologue and regular, mysterious letters from a child throughout.

For the most part it's a bit of a tug on the old heart strings and I think most parents will find it gives them food for thought, it did this one anyway! It does rely on amnesia which can be tricky to deal with but I think it does it reasonably well and without any hugely ridiculous situations manages to build a mystery and a threat. Maggie who is the lead is isolated into a hugely difficult situation and her struggles against it feel very real at times.

I found the ending extremely satisfying in a book that moved gradually up through the gears without relying on too many outlandish coincidences. The narration by Tara Fitzgerald is sympathetic and very easy on the ear.

This is an author I will watch out for in the future.
