Summary

John, Chris, and Erik are neighbors in the quaint subdivision of the Creeks of Sage Valley, Phase II. The three men happily live the typical suburban family life. Their only real problems have been with each other and the draconian rules of the HOA. But, all that changes when the dead rise from their graves and walk the Earth.

Now, they must reluctantly join together to survive the spreading apocalypse and find their families. Personal fears, long buried secrets, and their own personalities threaten to tear the group apart as they make their way across the zombie-ridden landscape in Dads vs. Zombies.

Deeper than it pretends and funnier than it is.

Just a great romp with Zombies as its anchor and people as its meat. Even annoying people can fight to survive the end of the world.

Just perfect (especially if you’re a dad)

Just finished book 1 and totally enjoyed the audiobook. Phil Thron is a genius narrator and can handle any book emphasising the humour and the characters, and he’s been given a cracking book to get us all stuck in to. As an old fart (over 50), and a huge comedy sci-fi/fantasy fan, Dads vs Zombies is not only a great story but had me in stitches not only with the Dad observations but also the rants by John that go on throughout the book. He is spot on. Just downloading book 2 as I type.

Another modern comical Apocalyptic Tale

Ben Wallace has written another classic Apocalyptic Adventure, that screams Netflix or Amazon Prime material, with more plot twists and humour than some people can apparently handle. The story is very well written, combining action, humour and tragedy in even measure. Phil Thron brings the characters to life with humour and passion, the blooper reel if it exists is most likely epic. Like, Ben's Duck and Cover Series of books, this story is highly recommended to his Fans and new readers alike, hopefully we'll read more from John, Chris and Eric in the Dads Vs Zombies series soon.

Really good fun!

I’ve enjoyed Phil Thron’s narration on other authors’ work so that tempted me to try this and I am so glad I did. I don’t think I have ever chuckled so much listening to a book! It’s a great main trio of characters, and they way they interact is very entertaining and grounded - not everyone gets along after all, even in an apocalypse! The plot moves along at a good pace and even if you can see some of it coming it’s so well written that it doesn’t make it less entertaining. I did find it hard to distinguish between the character voices occasionally but better that than trying to make them too different and ending up hammy. I highly recommend this as a very entertaining few hours - it seemed to be pretty much just the right length - and ill definitely be getting more books by both the author and narrator.

Dads vs Zombies

A most enjoyable story, I found quite by accident when looking for books narrated by Phil Thron.
