Sci fi meets westerns

A fan of sci fi not a fan of westerns . I was surprised to enjoy this set of books. Plenty of scope and twists, the characters were a bit alike. But worth a read

GREAT SERIES

Loved these stories, it was a warning as well as hope for a positive future, to be conscious of the evils of sybornectic advances and to make sure that science does not grey the lines between what is right and wrong. All testing should be done under strict guidelines to benefit test subjects and humankind. Well written with great charactors can't wait for more.

Cyborgs & girls with names ending in “ee”

The most creative thing about these stories is their titles. Too bad the execution isn’t as great as the concept. The novella and both books feature the same fragile white gal with body insecurity finding love with a cyborg who doesn’t feel emotion until finding insta-love. The plot is paper thin, the dialogue cheesy and without humor, and the bad guys are one-note caricatures. The nooky is cookie cutter and really quick for a genre that clearly emphasizes the smex. The narration is decent, although the last story has several chapters of messed up audio.

Was it awful? No. Just clunky and unusually vanilla for books teasing cyborg cowboys from Mars. For free, it was okay enough to finish- and I did enjoy book three the most (it actually had some plot, H/h conflict, and badguy character development). I would try another if it was free, but currently the next books cost money and there just isn’t enough camp, smex, or action to entice me further.

🚀For better alien romance, with maximum camp and smex, try Ruby Dixon’s Ice Planet Barbarians.
🚀If you want alien alphas, try Anna Carven’s Dark Planet Warriors (books 1-4 are in an omnibus)
🚀Seeking perfect pairings with alien mates? The Clecanian series by Victoria Aveline is full length fun.
🚀Want just enough camp to get straight to hotter nooky? Some of Grace Godwin’s alien mail order brides novellas are free in Audible. (This series is unapologetically smut- space smut- but still smut😜)
🚀For a value-pak of alien beefcake space opera novellas, go with the Barbarians of the Sand collection, containing novellas 1, 2, & 4. (Audible incorrectly says the collection contains book 3 Tempted, but it’s book 4 Tormented in the pack). Each novella is 5hrs of fun and smex between golden hunks and the Bounty Babes.

P.S. I hate when collections fail to provide a table of contents, so:
Ch 1: High Plains Cyborg: 2 hr novella with Clint & Josie
Ch 11: The Good, the Bad, and the Cyborg: 5.5hrs with Morgan & Hattie
Ch 34: Fistful of Cyborg: 5.5 hrs with Sam & Addie

I'm in the middle of the reviews

I didn't hate it but neither did I love it, some of the dialogue is eye roll inducing but the concept is great. don't really understand the whole cowboy aspect of it considering done of them were cowboys on earth, they were soldiers, and are law enforcement on mars. they do ride robot horses though, so there is that lol.
some of the narrator's we're good except in the second book, I couldn't take the male seriously when the female read, she made him sound mentally challenged..
some of the audio is messed up in the last book but after the mess up it restarts where it went wonky and played out normally so you don't actually end up missing that conversation.

Purdy good, l'il lady.

This book is enjoyable and easy. A bit campy at times with the western accents and other Wild West homages. There are a couple technical missteps in the storyline that I just had to convince myself to overlook, but otherwise it's a nice easy read.

In the last book there is a section where the recording is a mess. It keeps clipping off and repeating, and jumping around, but it eventually stops. At first I thought it was a glitch in the app (sometimes that happens and you have to close the app and re-open it), but that wasn't it. It's the actual recording. Just know it doesn't last too long.

The narrators were great and all fit the characters well. The female in book one (not book 0.5) sounds a bit deadpan at times, but it's not too bad.

Amazing Western & Sci-fi Mix!!

Wow! I loved this!

Other than having a western vibe, that I gathered from the title, I wasn't sure what to expect. Since I love both a good western and a good alien romance, I dove in! And I'm so glad I did. The author wrote an excellent story that is the perfect mix of western and sci-fi. I couldnt wait to start each one in this bundle and sad when it finished. I definitely want more!! Great characters and I absolutely loved the horses!!
The audio narration is perfectly done and really enjoyable!

Cheesy goodness

I like the premise and read everything I can about Mars colonization, buy the wild west elements were a bit tongue in cheek. I look forward to more, so it is a win-win.

Good story but!

Ok story, but I was completely offended by the author. NOT ALL MEN are RAPISTS. Every encounter where a women was alone with men the men tried to rape the woman. what utter sexist bullshit.

surprisingly really good

honestly the title and cover art didn't appeal to me personally and I only listened because it was included in the plus catalog and one of the narrators was Aiden Snow. (I can't be the only one who thinks there should be more SFR included in the catalog) but to the point...I was pleasantly surprised at how good these were, the world on Mars was interesting and had a vibe to ruby Dixon's risdaverse farming planet even though it's different and unique. the characters were well developed and the relationships are on a good timeline of getting involved but not playing hard to get or constantly second guessing everything and dragging it out. what I didn't expect was there to be a good mystery and action thrown in with some emotional drama. I enjoyed them all but books 2&3 had more going on. I definitely recommend and I will be reading the next ones in the series.... the horses are a fun addition I'm looking forward to seeing how they evolve.
