About this listen
The moment I catch sight of the new coach, a spark ignites. Do we risk it all with a secret affair?
Jonah: I’m minding my own business when he struts into our locker room.
His confidence and sex appeal in his fitted suit and million-dollar smile are undeniable.
After picking my jaw off the floor, I collect myself. I need to find out more about him.
Do I follow him around? Yes. Do I make a fool of myself? Maybe.
While celebrating a win at the gay bar, my temper flares when I see him with another man. Do I dare take a chance?
Ryan: The first day at my new coaching job, he’s there. A winger whose dark hair and light blue eyes have me stumbling over my first words to the team.
Personal relations with players aren’t allowed. But he plays offense and I coach defense, so does it count?
Everywhere I go, he’s there. Tempting me.
My resolve is crumbling and I’m struggling to keep my distance.
When he catches me at a gay bar in a compromising position, it’s game over. Can we keep this hidden?

Great addition to the series
I liked Jonah and Ryan together, they were both caring and loving and I was rooting for them. I did feel that they didn't do a good job keeping the relationship a secret. They were a bit careless but I found the ending satisfying.
The narrator was brilliant and I loved how he voiced the characters. He brought them to life. Fantastic narration.

As good as when I read it
I have read this book, so I already knew how I would react when I listened to it. However I was still surprised how some of my reactions where.
Jonah and Ryan have instalust from the moment they make eye contact, having to keep their relationship secret as they are player and coach, but they couldnt resist the pull.
Listening to this Jonah and Ryan were instantly recognisable and I could follow the story easily. Owen in the book came over as someone to avoid, but listening to him, you could instantly hear how vindictive he was.
Finnley Cole's narrative easily made me love the story again, and bring home what could be lost if it all came out. Whether you listen to this or read it, you will love Jonah and Ryan

Strong attraction
There is an instant attraction. They both know this isn’t a good idea but it seems the attraction is stronger than the risk.
Jonah is young and maybe youth overrides his common sense but Ryan should have had a little more common sense besides he also has side issues that he should resolve before involving Jonah in anything.
The performance by Finley Cole brought the characters to life. Really gave feelings to the story.

Once again Christie Gordon made me swoon with her characters.
Sparks fly between Jonah and Ryan from the moment they meet. The forbidden love story between the hockey player and his team's new defensive coach starts out slow but quickly becomes intense and hot. I was constantly on the edge of my seat, hoping their secret relationship wouldn't be revealed and they'd get into big trouble.
I love how Christie keeps me captivated by her universe through her well developed characters. Beloved main characters from previous stories reappear and play important roles. With each book you learn more about the other roommates and as always I can't wait to read their HEA.
Finley has once again proved that he is one of the best narrators in this genre!

Beautiful love story.
Jonah, a rising star on the college hockey team, is totally smitten with Ryan, from the word go. But there's a problem: Ryan is one of the team's coaches. This could cause so many problems for both of them, Ryan also has a stalker, which means even more trouble might be waiting for them.
As soon as the guys hooked up, I did wonder why they would take such a risk, when there's literally weeks left of the season? I know they were both smitten kittens, but it really didn't make sense to me 🤔 Ryan in particular should have had the common sense not to take a risk which could impact them both negatively. Jonah has the excuse of youth, and the newness of his feelings, the excitement of young love and all that... However, I couldn't help but feel that Ryan should've reigned him in.
Despite this, their secret relationship, which is full of risks, and a whole lot of awkward moments, as they try to keep it hidden, really comes across as sweet and genuine. The bond between them is very well written by the author, and there was never a chance of their 'forbidden' love crashing and burning. There's some angst, but not a great deal and, on the whole, their love story plays out without any break ups, they're in obviously head over heels from the start. The epilogue is sweet, and leaves the couple in a great place.
As usual, a great performance from Finley Cole. He always brings the characters and their emotions to life. He captured their angst, but also their love for one another. Well narrated, and a lovely romance.

Another good book in this series.
I enjoyed this story a lot. It’s a bit angsty but I like those kinds of books. Jonah and Ryan must keep their relationship a secret and there’s an issue with a stalker. The blurb spells it all out well so I won’t rehash it.
Finnley Cole continues to do a good job narrating this series but I still wish he had more distinctive voices for the two MCs. He does good voices with secondary characters, including accents, so I’m puzzled why his MC's voices sound so similar; perhaps it’s just me. In any case I’m not bothered enough to stop listening to this series.
