Summary
Stand and fight...or flee and survive.
Collin Wells is no ordinary foster brother. He is evil wrapped in human skin - a living, breathing nightmare, and when he steps back into Holly's life, she's faced with a choice: trust the people who claim they can keep her safe, or trust the instincts that have kept her alive for the past 14 years.
As the threads of her life begin to unravel around her - leaving her terrified, displaced from her home, and caught in the middle of a drug battle - she can't help but wonder if she made the wrong choice.

Repetitive
Sorry to say that this book was dull. There was too much emphasis on character boundary and trust issues with men, I fell asleep. The reader was good, her voice smooth, but not a lot of fluctuations with emotions or gender change.

addicted
I have to say that this series has impressed me. I don't like all of the cursing in most books and this has none. From story to narration I have been pleased. I cannot wait to listen to the next book.

Best Book Series!
The Holly Novels are hands-down the best series I have listened to through Audible in a long time, maybe ever! Not only does CC Warren take her time in writing, adding detail and humor, but the narrator is one of the best I’ve heard.

I gave this 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ because it is one of the best audiobooks I have ever listened to. It is a great story, serious story, but with a lots of funny moments, very Captivating. Great characters and the narrator Heather Masters is excellent. I highly recommend Cross Fire 🔥 😃

Wow, What a Good Story
This was an excellent story, it was filled with just enough twists and turns. The narrator wasn't bad, switching between the characters. The main character is very annoying, not skilled, hard headed and a lot of other annoyances. I was committed to the story and wanted to hear the ending. Glad I made it to the ending, even with the annoyance, the ending g was explosive. Best of all, no profanity or offensive set scenes. I will look up this author.

Excellently written and narrated!
I have now read 3 of C. C. Warren’s books, and I have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. I am actually tired of the cookie cutter, perfect situation romance stories. Mrs. Warren’s books have been truly refreshing. This one is no exception!
