About this listen
'This page-turning series never lets the reader down’ HARLAN COBEN
IN A PROFESSION LIKE THIS, YOU'RE BOUND TO MAKE ENEMIES . . .
An eye . . .
It all starts when Dr Temperance Brennan finds a box on her porch. Inside is a fresh human eyeball with GPS coordinates etched into it. They lead her to a macabre discovery in a Benedictine Monastery, and soon after she discovers a mummified corpse in a state park.
. . . for an eye
There seems to be no pattern to these killings, except that each mimics a killing connected to something a younger Tempe experienced, or barely escaped. Someone is targeting her, and she needs to figure out why before they strike again.
And then her daughter Katy disappears.
Someone is playing a dangerous game with Tempe. And they won’t stop until they have taken everything from her . . .
Electrifying, heart-stopping and compulsive, this is Tempe’s most personal and dangerous case yet . . .

Great as always
Only rated story a 4 because I guessed the killer early on and was mentally yelling at Brennan the whole way through.

Cold Cold Bones
Terrific Kathy Reichs story, as always. Believable characters, known places and procedures.
Temperance's daughter Katie decided to come back to North Carolina. After volunteering at a homeless shelter she mentions an man who seems to be following her. During this, cases come to the Police and Medical Examiners office.
That's all you'll get out of me about the story except to say it was a great one!

A very enjoyable book
The book is well written and well read and the plot kept me interested throughout. It was necessary to suspend my disbelief from time to time especially when the main character acted recklessly. A person in her circumstances and with her history would have had better home security and would have been more aware of personal security. Even so it is a good story with an interesting plot.

another good story
Good book. A little easy to work out who the villain is. If you've read the other novels it answers a question about a character that was dropped I found strange at the time!

Great writing and narration
There is a reason that Kathy Reichs is one of my favourite authors. The lady knows how to build suspense and catch the reader unawares.
I enjoyed this addition to the Temperance Brennan series, but I found some aspects to be a little predicable. Having said that, there were plenty of curve balls so I was questioning my assumptions.
The narration was really well done, with recognisable characters and intensity.
