Great story line

Poor narrator, who made it difficult to recognise different characters and their emotions and personalities.

Good overall but......

too many love triangles, too much unrequited love, too much kissing. The rest of it - pretty good.

so many different emotions and descriptions make you feel like your with them. Not many dull parts and the book keeps you gripped.

When you find yourself caring what happens to a character, I think it's safe to say you're hooked! Already downloading the next book. I can still sense the YA audience grabbing bits, but they're less jarring as the story progresses, and in a way it's very pleasant to throw back the years to my teenage emo. In another way, it's horrifying! Still, can't hang about, got a story to get to!

A Sequel that doesn't disappoint.

City Of Ashes continues the story of the Shadow Hunters begun in City of Bones. It rattles along at a fair pace, perhaps even faster than its predecessor. Again it ends with loose ends waiting to be tied, It still leaves the reader both satisfied and hungry for more.

City of Ashes

Well that's it. I'm hooked! I really have enjoyed this series so far and have even broken my own rule of only listening while working. I blame my burned toast at breakfast and nearly strangling myself in bed with my headphone wires on the struggles that Clary, Jace and the other equally likable characters find themselves entwined in. Damn you Cassandra Clare and your captivating easy listen *shakes fist* 2 credits per month just aren't enough!

Gripped!

I'm hooked on this story and the characters. narration is much improved from book 1 and the mystery surrounding the characters drives the story, slowly unravelling a piece at a time.

Better than the first

It took me quite a while to get into the story of the first book, but Cassandra Clare seemed to have hit her stride by the end of that book. In this book, the story moved along nicely with plenty of depth and character building. I didn't mind the narration of the first book, but I liked Natalie Moore even better.
