Summary

It's Christmastime with our favourite Bomb Girls at the Phoenix Munitions Factory.... With trouble ahead can their wishes still come true?

The festive season is approaching, and the Bomb Girls are determined to make this a year to remember. With Myrtle's health in decline, Edna's love life beginning to take flight and a shy new arrival in their midst, life is never quiet in Pendle. But Gladys, back from performing for the troops, is sullen and sad, and her friends are sure she is hiding something.

What happened while Gladys was away? And will the Bomb Girls be able to provide a wonderful Christmas all round?

Fans of Lesley Pearse, Maggie Hope, Dilly Court and Donna Douglas will love Daisy Styles' mesmerising novel.

Good story but narrator a bit bland

The narrator for this book made me feel like dropping off to sleep. It was very monotone at times. Story ok.

good story shame the narrator rushed through it

had to keep rewinding to hear clearly what the narrator said. i love Daisy's books but wished i had bought this book to read rather than listen to. each sentance ran into the next. very frustrating to listen to.

A good listen

I enjoyed another instalment but found that because the narrator had changed i wasn't able to visualise the characters as much as previously. This won't stop me however listening to any further reads about the bomb girls

Another lovely story set in wartime Britain.

This 3rd book in the series was well written and enjoyable. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the narration by Helen Lloyd as much as Anne Dovers narration of previous books in this series. I felt the narrator's voice sounds "too old" to do justice to the characters and lacked the emotion of Anne Dover. It was however a very enjoyable novel and is highly recommended.

Warming

Really enjoyed this instalment of the Bomb Girls. Like others I found the Narrator very droning and I felt it spoilt the enjoyment.
Hoping the next instalment has a more suited Narrator. If I hadn’t already listened to the other two books I’d of given up with this listen as I found it very hard work!

Another fantastic book in the series

Loved this book full of emotions all the way through just wish the narrator hadn’t changed all the girls accents were so different and it took me a few chapters to adjust to her voice but never the less I loved it
