Summary

William Smithback, a New York Times reporter, and his wife, Nora Kelly, a Museum of Natural History archeologist, are brutally attacked in their apartment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Eyewitnesses claim and the security camera confirms the killer seen leaving the building was their strange, sinister neighbor - a man who, by all reports, was already dead.

Captain Hayward leads the official homicide investigation, while Pendergast, D'Agosta, and Nora undertake a private quest for the truth. Their serpentine journey takes them into a part of Manhattan they never imagined could exist: a secretive and deadly hotbed of Obeah, the West Indian Zombii cult of sorcery and magic. And it is here they find their true peril is just beginning.

as always brilliant!

long may this series continue! I simply love these characters and how they have developed throughout the books. They complement each other and the storyline even though there is a follow on aspect to each book you can equally enjoy them individually.

To Rene; that's the best Zombie sound bite ever!

Where does Cemetery Dance rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Not bad at all. I really enjoyed the Pendergast series so far as they are easy going and fun. and this one is no exception.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Cemetery Dance?

It's a bit of twister and is set back in New York with some of the series most memorable characters. Another good yarn so no spoilers here just get involved.

What about Rene Auberjonois’s performance did you like?

The impressions from reader Rene on the monster were brilliant. Well done.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending. Again it would spoil it if I told you.

Love it!

Really enjoying this series, lots of quirks. Totally gutted about the loss of one of the characters but I like that some characters keep returning if only every so often.

Classic pendergast

Just like the good old books from before the Diogenes trilogy.
Surprises all through with a nice portion of karma at the end.

poor

Found the book very difficult to get into. Is not very well written ,on a par with the Davinci Code.

Appalling sound quality

I am enjoying this title but have reached a point where the sound quality is just appalling. This has happened at least once before. The narration makes scratchy noises then both repeats parts and then misses out other parts - each time accompanied by the scratchy noises.

It sounds exactly like a damaged vinyl record. I'm streaming it via Alexa, so I have no idea how this could be the case!

Audible: PLEASE ADDRESS THIS! IT'S DAMNED ANNOYING!!!
