Wow! Love this performance!

Hi! I'm Kacey Shea, the author of Caught in the Lies.

OMG! I thought I couldn't love Savannah Peachwood anymore than I already do. I was wrong! She is fantastic at her craft. From sexy, to funny, to sweet, she brings an honesty to my characters in a way that made me want to do nothing but listen to this book straight through! Her performance for each character is unique and distinct, which is such a delight as a listener.

As for the male point of view, Jason Clarke, made me wish I had written this book in full dual POV, he's that good! I cannot wait to work with him again on future audios. His voice added so much to the listener experience of this story, and he nailed Cam's character. When you listen you'll understand the reason for keeping you out of Cameron's thoughts for most of the chapters!

If you love a story with layers, twists, and a few unforeseen turns about a smoldering fireman and a heroine who must face her past to move forward with a future she never imagined, then I think you'll love this one!

Love Cam & Jill

I loved this emotional and sexy age gap romance. We get a glimpse of Cam & Jill in their prequel, which is free in, One Hot Night! Their connection is fiery hot, their banter is fun & flirty, but their insecurities have them hiding secrets and unwilling to share. So even though they feel perfect for each other, it's these secrets that feel more like lies that threaten to shred them to pieces. Jill's best friends, Alicia & Callie, are incredible. I love the way they tease & support each other. But ultimately it's the emotional journey that Cam & Jill endure that is so beautiful. I loved everything about this book. The writing was exceptional. And Savannah Peachwood was exceptional with her narration. I loved Jason Clarke as Cam's entries it was perfect!

A Tension Filled Emotional Romance

I really enjoyed this emotional romance. This is a standalone read but there is a free prequel (One Hot Night) that is available for Jill and Cam's story. You could easily read this book without it but it was a very fun quick read with lots of steam and humor. Plus, it is free AND it provides a perfect set up for starting off this book with a bang. So grab it and read it. Now as for this book, I found myself very quickly pulled back into this couple's story and it does not take long to realize that things are going to be emotional, tense and drama filled. I liked both these characters so much and I felt that they were perfect together. These are very complex characters. They each have emotional baggage, flaws and secrets. You will feel a lot of tension as the storyline unfolds and their relationship evolves because you know the secrets they are holding back from each other (and the reader) are going to be huge and catastrophic. There is plenty of humor in this book as well as well as some sweet and swoony moments that help to balance out that whole "Waiting for the other shoe to drop" angsty feeling. When both of these characters secrets are revealed your emotions will really be sent spinning. I found my heart truly aching for Jill. I could seriously relate to her and her situation. There is almost nothing quite as painful as regret. I also felt for Cam and I could logically understand his reasoning but, I'd be lying if I said that whole situation did not leave me with an overall feeling of distaste and a epic desire that things had been different (and I know I will not be the only reader that feels this way). Even with that caveat, I really, really did enjoy this book. It was well written, engaging and and had a couple I easily fell for and wanted to be happy. I'm looking forward to reading Alicia's story next and you could also check out Callie's book Caught In flames which is out already. The dual narration was a delightful bonus to an already amazing book and I thought that both of these narrators did an excellent job of making it easy to connect with the characters themselves but also the entire story.

4.5 Captivating Stars!

Wow, this second book in the Caught series was captivating and sexy! This is a sweet, emotional age gap romance between an older Cam and a younger Jill. Cameron and Jill are both complicated characters. They both have pasts and secrets that keep them from giving themselves fully to each other. Jill wants to live life on her own terms, not wanting marriage or kids. Cam never expected more than a good time with Jill but this sexy woman blindsided him and he will do what he can to keep her in his life. Jill is conflicted between a stressful job and her growing desire for more with Cam. There were several plot twists I didn't see coming, but felt authentic. This was a beautiful story of life's ups and downs, overcoming past tragedies to find true friendship, and love. I also loved all the secondary characters who are quirky, supportive, and adversarial that add so much depth, intrigue and fun to this story. The narration by Savannah Peachwood, and Jason Clarke was superb! They nailed these characters perfectly, making me feel all the complex emotions they experienced. I was completely lost in their moving performance and in Shea's amazing and beautiful story!

Fantastic Narration

Great audiobook! I really enjoyed the story and LOVED the actual performance. Savannah & Jason both did excellent with the narration. They don't just read the story, they perform it. You can feel the emotions/humor/excitement etc of what happens in every moment as easily as you would if you were watching them as scenes in movies. Jason has been one of my favorites for awhile, but Savannah is quickly becoming another favorite! They make the perfect duo. The story itself was really good, I'm growing attached to this crazy group of friends and their sweet firefighters!

Steamy Captain Cam

Cam the older firefighter and Jill the younger fierce independent woman. She wants casual and he wants forever. They both have secrets that hold them back.
A emotional, laugh out loud read. Jill and her friends are very close and funny as can be. Cam the fire captain who has found the woman he wants to marry but will she forgive him for the secrets he keeps and the twist at the end that tugs on your heartstrings. Very much worth the wait.
Great Job by the narrators. Really made the book come to life.
A must read steamy firefighter series!!!

Fun, Sexy, Emotional, and Beautiful!

This is the second book in the connected standalone stories written by Kacey Shea. This is a great age gap story (older man). Jill and Cam's story is fun, sweet, emotional, twisted, and beautiful. I loved it! Cam is a handsome firefighter, fun, bossy with a filthy mouth. He is also caring, patient, and protective. Jill is a lovely woman, fun, and strong. I love how the audiobook version brings this story to life. Savannah Peachwood and Jason Clarke did a great job with the narration. You don't have to read the free prequel to this story, One Hot Night, but it's free and it's a fun and sexy read before reading/listening to Caught in the Lies.

Loved Jill and Cam

Once I started listening to this story I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between Cam and Jill was off the charts They both had secrets that keep your interest in the story because you wanted to know what both of them were hiding. They had a rough journey and I was really invested in their story. This book was all Jill’s point of view and Savannah did a great job capturing both characters emotions. Jason Clarke narrated Cam’s voice messages and although his part was small the narration was incredible. Definitely recommend this one!

I absolutely adored Cam and Jill story. Kacey Shea just blowed my mind with everything that happened from beginning to end. I really did not see all that coming.

Savannah and Jason nailed both characters to perfection.

The Caught series is amazing! On to the next in the serie 😃
