Trinity Ashford owns the Tail Waggin’ Pet Day Care and store. Every morning, the kindly Mr. Armstrong brings her coffee. At least until his handsome son, Brad, shows up wanting to change everything. Then, Trinity finds the elderly Mr. Armstrong murdered and is determined to prove his son is the killer by using the old man’s cat, Moses, as a witness.
The cat hates the scent of the cologne Brad wears. Trinity is convinced it’s the same brand the killer must have worn in order for the cat to react as he did. No one believes her, but she is determined to prove the cat is a viable witness.
As she seeks to prove Brad the murderer, she realizes he is far from a killer, and the two of them end of teaming together to find out the identity of the real killer. From small-town strips malls to penthouses, and country clubs, they check off suspects one by one until they get too close and find themselves facing death.

Trinity's life revolves around her saving up money to go to veterinarian school, running her doggy day care center and cuddling up to her two cats with a good book. Oh and her morning coffee delivered by her elderly landlord. So the last thing she wants to be told is her rent is going up with no coffee in her hand. Trinity decides to check on her landlord and friend only to find him dead. Before the police arrive, his estranged son Brad let's himself into the apartment. The landlords cat, Mosses, goes nuts when he gets near and Trinity believes the usual friendly cat would only do that it be smelled the killer. Could Brad be the killer? Trinity doesn't know what to think as he is the one pushing for the rent to be raised for all the small shop owners. Can Brad prove he isn't the killer? He does prove that he is willing to listen and things take a turn for the better until she starts to get threatening notes, Trinity's social life also improves but that is only so that she can find the real killer and with Brad and Mosses help she might just catch a killer and save her shop.
I like the narrator. She has a distinct voice that she uses well for recreating the story.
