Story
We all have that one person who we know are meant just for us. The one who we tell our innermost secrets to, share our joy, every triumph, every loss, every fail with. That doesn't always mean that we get to be with them, but it is a driving force that keeps us pressing forward, trying to conquer the unconquerable, always searching for ways to beat the odds. For Braxton Caulder, that person is Allie Johnson.

The crying persisted. The door of the lighthouse clanged in the distance, and Tom's tall frame appeared on the gallery as he scanned the island with the binoculars. 'Izzy!' he yelled, 'a boat!' He vanished and re-emerged at ground level. 'It's a boat all right,' Tom declared. 'And – oh cripes! There's a bloke, but –' The figure was motionless, yet the cries still rang out. He hoisted out a woollen bundle: a woman's soft lavender cardigan wrapped around a tiny, screaming infant.

Returning to the lavish Chicago setting of her popular novel Paradise, and revisiting some of that book's characters as well, this story will captivate in inimitable Judith McNaught style. High atop a snow-covered hill, the stately old Wyatt mansion is perched like a crown. Such opulence means success and, surely, happiness. But on the eve of wealthy philanthropist Cecil Wyatt's 80th birthday, all the money in the world won't bring back his missing grandson, William Wyatt. The only thing for certain: Foul play was involved.

Cute short story
I was given this audiobook free for an honest review. If you are looking for something to fill in about an hour of your time, this is a good listen. However, in my opinion, the narrator needs more experience or training on how to read a book out loud. Very disappointed in the disjointed narration. She didn't have much inflection in her voice. However, you could at least tell the difference in the characters.
The story was cute, fast and complete. Some short stories do not make the connection or complete thoughts. This one did a great job of setting up the story and giving the reader some insight into the characters. I'm sure there are people who can relate to the story. I enjoyed this short story for being a short story. Filled my time between long books and was a breath of fresh air.

Just no no no to the narrator but story is good.
Any additional comments?
This book was given to me in return for my unbiased opinion. Look just get another narrator. This narrator isn't the worst but man she just isn't doing for me with this story. I think the writing is pretty good but really I need these narrators to do better. When the narrator gets it right a sucky story can be great or a great story can come to life and be wonderful. Oh well, all I can say is if you are not as picky as I am with narrators try the book. The story is pretty good.

Narrator or Author?
What disappointed you about Carrying the Billionaire's Baby?
The reading of the book is very awkward and I can't totally tell if it's the narrator or also the author's writing since I have never read a book by this author. The story line seems decent without the narrators reading but the reading definitely hurts the book.

Sometimes the Best is last to come
The whole while listening to this book it felt like it was an introduction to a serial or an abridgment book. The story wasn't making much sense until the very end. All abridged books seem that way to me. I prefer unabridged books.
This was the 1st time I've listen this author & this narrator, I plan to listen to this author again & the narrator. The story line was quite interesting.

Could’ve been better
The story was cute & short. My problem is with the narrator. How could they allow for this to be put out. I’m glad this was free. Im sorry but the narration was very choppy and rushed. I don’t want to sound mean but the narrator seemed to be having trouble reading out loud. I’m going to make sure I don’t listen to anymore of her narrations
