Hood for the genre

Not a bad story
There is a fair amount of predictability in the plot given away by the characters back stories, but a reasonable listen.

Story ..predictable romantic that I did not expect?
Definitely not one I would have committed to, if I’d known what the storyline was, in advance.
My lovely wife really enjoyed it.

Best book I’ve listened to this year
It wasn’t as predictable as I thought it would be. Plenty of twists in the storyline and surprised me multiple times. I love romance but you always know how it’s going to go. This book added unexpected drama

Who let dog out?
Premise sounded so good, narration was good, but the MCs are stereotypes of the most obvious kind, which not too long into the tale made it impossible to continue. She is too stupid to ever be in the police, even her K9 has more sense. He is "Action Man" after a DEI course; (I wonder why the acronym isn't DIE?), and certainly sounds and acts prettier than her.
We all know corrupt politicians allow interactions with minors, and some are taken out when they threaten others with their knowledge, which makes the plot of the book so ridiculous.
The only thing I found to like was it being a freebee from the Plus Catalogue.

Disappointing
I thought I was paying for a thriller but you could fit all the thriller bits into one chapter, this is a love story and nothing more. If I wanted to listen to a love story I would pick Barbara Cartland, this is not a thriller, stay clear.
