Story
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

Reidon Ward will become a god. He doesn't know it yet, of course. Reidon was born weak, sickly, and small. Afflicted with a painful disease and abandoned by his parents because of it, he has had to fight tooth and nail for every minor advantage life has allowed him. Story
A world on the precipice of the apocalypse. A secret forged in the flames of war. A chance to start over. For John Sutton, only one of those three things matters. Retired from a decade of brutal war, he wants nothing more than a quiet pastoral life while he does his best to stem the steady increase of his Doom Points before they hit 100, signaling the start of the end. He’s been given a small farm on the outskirts of the empire as thanks for his service, but no matter how far he travels, it's impossible to escape the war's devastating effects on the world.

Story
An inn is a place to rest, a place to talk and share stories, a place to find adventure, or a starting ground for quests and legends. It is in this world, at least. To Erin Solstice, an inn seems like a medieval relic from the past. But here she is, running from Goblins and trying to survive in a world full of monsters and magic. She’d be more excited about all of this if everything wasn’t trying to kill her. But an inn is what she’s found, and so that’s what she becomes; an innkeeper, who serves drinks to heroes and monsters. Mostly monsters. But it’s a living, right?

I woke up in a battlefield triage tent, bloody, battered, and crippled. It wasn't just my arm and shoulder that was broken, but also my mind. I couldn't remember anything—my name, who or where I was, or what had happened to me. Could things get worse? Of course they could. The battle wasn’t over, and it appeared that our enemy wasn't content with just a victory. No. They sought to wipe us out. But why? If I lived long enough, perhaps I would find out.

This is the story about how I died. Not really.... I mean, I don't remember most of it, thank goodness. Long story short, I was betrayed. Some people I thought I could trust invaded my sky palace, stole my women, and enslaved my pet shadow hounds. I was destroyed, utterly. Or so they thought. Somehow, mana, the source of my previous power, brought me back. The backstabbing weasels think they are safe, barricaded in their strongholds. Here's the horrible part. They willingly sacrificed their own flesh and blood for security. And they had the nerve to call me evil?

Summary
Life was simpler when someone was around to tell him what to do. With a band of Adventurers looking to him for direction, whether he likes it or not, Trent Embra needed to figure out how to lead them.
But how was he supposed to lead when there were so many things Trent hadn’t figured out for himself?
An unidentifiable seed in his Storage, and whispers in his head, Trent points his team west towards the wilds. It was as good a direction as any. Maybe in uncivilized lands, Trent would learn what it meant to be an Adventurer and sort through what mattered most.

Fantastic series!
Got the first book for free with my membership and did not hold much hope for it but I’ve just blown through the whole series in no time at all could not stop listening! Devastated there is not more out, looking at the release dates of 3 books in 2020 and one in 2022 I hope we will see more soon. 10/10 amazing.

Another excellent instalment of this series.
As with other reviewers, I am a fan of this series and like most others devour the books when they come out. Reading and then listening as the audible often brings things the reader misses.
We have a bit of potentially background setting for later books which Trent and his party will I assume be encountering.
In this book Trent and his party set off into the wilds, we get a little bit of how the Dros kingdom is freeing itself from under the kingdoms yoke. Trent creates a new trial which only he can enter, some expansion on that with the book following the party as they enter a wandering dungeon and once again we are left with a potential cliff hanger..

Book 4 - brambles and thorns in my opinion is the weakest of the first 4 books, however it has absoloutly cemented multiple directions the books can go and I can’t wait to see where s-Trent goes next!
Narrator has smashed it out of the park again,
Even though I think it’s the weakest of the 4 I still really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone!

seriously though I'm 8 hours or 10 hours and and there has been very little action or Adventure they've talked so much this book and nothing important has happened. it has been two day in world and it's taken 10 hours and nothing really has happen. I'm past halfway through the book and it Is frustrating to listen to it I'm thinking of stopping here.

We go west...just not this book.
The very beginning of this book feels out of placed and this book tries to smooth out the wrinkles that it created. Progress is made with other characters outside of Trent, but Trent somehow gains a weird and basically annoying ability that doesn't reveal anything to Trent just to drain loot. We left off book 3 that cliff hangs us that the next adventure will be West, but this book stalls that progress for a new character.

Disappointing Book in Series
I enjoyed the first two books in this series and looked forward to listening to this one. Unfortunately, it didn’t deliver. The author jumped to new characters without me seeing how they tied to the original characters and storyline. There was a lot of status statistics thrown in, which led me to believe them only to be filler words. There is a lot of alluding to a Great War coming and I figure that somehow Trent will be the one person to determine its outcome. Sigh. Too bad the editor didn’t ask this author to rewrite this book. Now I am no longer interested in the series.

I keep waiting for this story to develop.
as I listen to more and more of the books in this series, one lingering thought remains. when is the story going to develop into more than just dungeon after dungeon. there are glimpses of a life outside of dungeons, but the main character just basically goes from dungeon to dungeon and all the small world building that is happening does not move the story on enough. I like the main character, I like several the as a matter of fact. but I'm getting bored with the wash, rinse and repeat of trial dungeons. this is book 4 and throughout the last three books there have been small glimpses of world building but they never have a payoff. The writer spends more time on the dungeons and almost nothing on anybody else in this world. which is getting very redundant. I'll probably listen to the next book, but if I'm not seeing anything besides dungeon after dungeon, it will probably be the last.
