Summary

Family matters.

With the help of his found family and his beloved Prince Sylvain, Lochlann Wilde has finally conquered the four oriels of the Wispwood. Now that the elemental gemstones are united in his amulet, Locke can earn Aphrodite’s favor.

Whatever that may be. But there’s plenty to do in the meantime, anyway. Catching up with his mom, for example, or exploring his true identity as a half-undine human. Sylvain’s hotness and histrionics keep him very busy, too.

But something strange is afoot at the academy. The arrival of a familiar face, a mythical mage, a living legend… except that no one even knew he was still alive.

Goodbye sapling, starling, little darling…

I can’t believe this is the end of the series already and it’s time to say goodbye…

I really enjoyed this addition to the series - we saw loose ends get tied up and of course we got to see the wonderful Locke and Sylvain together again in action (in all senses of the word!)

A great listen - as always, superbly narrated by Greg Boudreaux too!

Conflicted

It was very enjoyable as per usual. I really liked it but a part of me felt like it wasn't really the end.
I enjoyed the book as another installment in the series but not really as an ending. This book as the end book for the series left me a bit wanting.
