Story
The boys at school think James is a freak, and he isn’t sure they’re wrong. He’s 15 and possesses a genius level IQ. He has no friends, and his grandmother thinks it’s the 1960s, but none of these are his biggest problem. James is gay and totally incompetent with social interaction. He’s also attracted to a man old enough to be his father. His situation seems hopeless, until he meets Lincoln and Taylor, two boys who begin to teach him how to interact with others and deal with being different.

Is turning a haunted mansion into a bed-and-breakfast such a good idea? Sean and his family think so, except for Avery, who believes guests will be scared away by disembodied voices, candles that light themselves, and the ghostly reenactment of the notorious Graymoor ax murders. When the gay boys of Verona went their separate ways, Verona was more at peace than it had been in ages. Skye, the local champion of gay boys, has been gone for five long years, however, and much has changed in his absence.

Story
You know, being friends with two cute boys does have its benefits. There's Danny. Danny is a golden boy in every way. He has dreamy blue eyes and blonde hair that always looks perfect, even when it's windblown or been stuck under a football helmet. He's the boy every girl crushes on. The boy I get into trouble with, the boy I fight with, the hot quarterback no girl can resist, not even me. Being with Danny is like being on an adventure. He has a bright, contagious smile and abs to die for. He's pretty much irresistible.

Dorian and his boyfriend Marc are beginning their life together as freshmen at Indiana University, but neither imagines the temptations they will face.
IU is filled with gorgeous young men, but more dangerous are those who offer more than physical beauty. Dorian meets not one, but two boys he'd gladly date if he didn't already belong to Marc.
Marc meets Hunter, a hunky cyclist who is his perfect match. As if overwhelming temptation wasn't enough, the pair is faced with an old nemesis from back home.
When one gay boy after another is found beaten, Dorian and Marc wonder if Devon is up to his old tricks.

Fun Romp for a Teen
To be fair to the author, I don't think I'm the target audience for his series. This book definitely felt like it was meant as a fun romp for a high school student. And there is nothing whatsoever wrong with that!! I want young people to love reading, and fun books essential to developing that love.
Even as an adult who is well beyond youthful optimism, I loved this sweet fantasy world and I love normalizing LGBTQQIAP culture for young people. I love that, even though this was set in the 80s, the young gay men were not all effeminate stereotypes, but there were varied gay characters. And there was a fantastic moment at the end that I can't talk about without a big ol' spoiler warning!
I enjoyed the audiobook version of this book, which was great. I just love the narrator, Jerry Bradshaw. He has such a smooth voice, but also does a great job at injecting personality into each character. I'm always excited to hear what Bradshaw is going to do with text.
