Summary
Signed over 200 years ago, the Blood Contract ensured the sanctity of the Blood lands. In return, the Blood family dedicated their lives, and their deaths to the protection of the town of Thorne.
For many years, the town of Thorne was nothing more than a picturesque New England village. But in modern day, the town is enjoying a boom in real estate development. To satisfy the developers with enough land, the town has decided to break the Blood Contract.
And the Bloods are not pleased.
Not at all.
Now, as Autumn moves ever on towards winter, the Aldermen and the people of Thorne are going to learn that there is a price for ignorance.
And it’s higher than they could have ever imagined.

Not what I expected.
I didn't read the summary, or any reviews of this before starting it, I just saw who the author was and dived in, and I have to say that it was not at all what I was expecting!! For the first few pages I thought this would be the typical haunting, but it's not!! There was an awesome twist to it that I loved and I'm so glad I went in knowing nothing because I was giddy when I was reading it.
The plot was fast paced, intense and all round full of awesomesauce!! The basic premise is that the Blood family has owned property in the town of Thorne for generations. The family gave some of the land to the town but a contract was written up expressly forbidding the town to encroach upon the only land the family kept. All was well for generations, until the town decided to develop on the land. With the contract breached, the Blood family can not rest, but you will need to read the book to figure out why!!
As I said, I loved the plot and the twist the author put on it. I loved the creatures and learning about why the contract was put into place. I loved all the characters and found them all to be well written and developed. The creatures were well described and I want more of them!!! So yes, I pretty much loved everything about this book and would love to see more from the characters, and the creatures.
In all, a book that truly surprised me and one I highly recommend.
Jake Urry was once again amazing. he knows how to bring across the atmosphere and has so many tones and voices for the characters that the world comes alive. He is one of my favourite narrators.
I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.

Another great listen!
This was another great story by Ron Ripley. I enjoyed the Irish Lore that he brought into the plot and the variety of adversaries it brought about. He does a great job of describing everything so you can really get a great picture developed in your mind. I also enjoy Jake Urry’s reading, though he reads a little slow for my liking audible is great in that you can speed it up! Over all a great listen, would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys this genre.
I can’t wait to see what Ron Ripley has up his sleeve for his next story!

Ron Ripley is my new favourite!
I started with the Berkley Street series, and I’m hooked. It’s hard to find a good ghost series I can sink myself into, and his one shot books leave me wanting more!

Wow
I will have to admit at first I tried to get into the story but I just couldn't catch what was going on but as I kept listening I was totally swept away with the story. I'm so glad I did listen longer, it just kept you going deeper and deeper and it became such a whirl wind loved the stories. There are some extras at the end you just say Wow! Totally enjoyed the performer too. Overall a great story I will listen too again.

Love the book but NOT the Narrator, Jake Urry!
I really, really love Ron Ripley books but I have to say this narrator is awful. I enjoyed reading the book and was anticipating being able to enjoy the audible version as well, unfortunately the narrator made the story slow and boring. There is no inflection or emotion in his voice and it is hard to tell the characters apart.

Great story line!
Thoroughly enjoyed the characters, story-line and plot! I had to speed up the narrator in order to listen which threw it off slightly but I enjoyed the tale and its twists!

Bad Things Happen When Promises Are Broken
When mysterious deaths and people begin showing up in Thorn, there is one man who knows what is happening. The town broke the contract with the Blood family, and in order for order to be restored, a new contract must be struck, before everyone in town is killed off.
Great read! Absolutely loved it!

Loved it.
Blood Contract was my first Ron Ripley novel. I don't know what I expected. But, that wasn't it. I loved everything about this book. I listened to the audiobook it one sitting. I would love to read a continuation of this storyline.
