When Curt Townsend, a successful young DC lawyer, attends his first gay wedding, he doesn't expect anything more than a great evening out spent celebrating two lucky guys willing to commit to each other. He certainly doesn't anticipate meeting someone like Jack Farinelli. Fourteen years Curt's senior, Jack owns two businesses: a gay bar and a motorcycle shop. He's gorgeous and self-assured, but Curt is positive they have nothing in common.

A great continuation of the Better Than series with some characters from the previous books reappearing, but a new coupling at the centre. The story is very engaging, with emotions that many listeners will be able to recognise - you can empathise with and get irritated at the way the two main characters interact, but most of us will have at least thought the same things, if not spoken or done them! While listening, you are willing things to happen, while cursing Jack for being sensitive, and Curt for being an idiot, and hoping they see sense in the end.

What makes this book a real treat to listen to is the narrator. Tyler Stevens does a wonderful job, making it totally clear who is talking at all times, without the need for "he said" tags. He even keeps the same voices for characters from the previous books, so although his British accent may not be 100% (being British myself, I probably notice it more), the overall listening experience is excellent, with flawless production as well.

The Better Than sires is, so far, consistently exceptional. The storylines are sweet and engaging and man, can Lane Hayse write a sex scene. Normally I'm more interested in the romance aspect and character development but in this book the passion is hard to ignore and just listening to Tyler Stevens say dick is an experience in itself ahum. Young master Stevens is a great orator all round actually, all the characters are individual and recognizable.In fact I'd say he made these books better than great. (sorry couldn't help myself)
