Summary

The original report from Europa...

When evidence of microscopic life on Europa - Jupiter’s sixth moon - is discovered, a crew of astronauts and scientists embark on a mission to discover its source. Led by oceanographer and biologist, Kathy Connelly, the crew is charged with the task of melting through miles of ice to the hidden ocean beneath, where the search for alien microorganisms begins. But a startling discovery awaits them on the surface of Europa - life. Vast fields of red, plant-like organisms fill the cracks crisscrossing the moon’s surface, surviving on nutrients welling up from the waters below. Encouraged by the discovery of life on the surface, Connelly and her crew activate the Thermal Exploratory System and melt through the ice toward a world that does not want to be found, toward an intelligence that will do anything to make sure they never leave.

Beneath takes all of the action, thrills, imagination, and strange creatures that Jeremy Robinson is known for and puts them in the most extreme environment imaginable: the surface and sub-ice ocean of a moon four hundred million miles away from Earth.

This updated edition has been reedited, revised, repackaged, and expanded, making this new edition of Beneath superior to all that came before.

Dreaming of new worlds

very cool idea and although it felt shorter then id like im not sure if this is the authors fault or just a result of me wanting to know more about the europhids.

id very much read more books like this and even other worlds with different species.

highly recommended for those who enjoy world building

Well written

Fast paced.
Interesting premise.
There are a few parts where I’m like okay, I didn’t need another obstacle, we could have moved on with the plot — so maybe a bit more action oriented than my taste would prefer. The obstacles were interesting I’m just impatient! A good read. I will say that other than theme of aliens secretly being on Earth, I’m not sure how this fits the series…

A fantastic sci-fi thriller

Robinson delivers another fantastic read. This time it’s on the moon of europa and from start to finish you are taken on an intense ride of what lies beneath the surface of europa and what are its intentions. You won’t be disappointed in spending the credit on this read.

I returned this !

I am afraid that this book just was not for me. I found it incredibly predictable to the point where I just could not be bothered to listen any more.

Immune system.

The imagination of the author Jeremy Robinson is endless and written in perfection.
What’s beautiful about this series is that every book that I’ve listened to can be listened on it’s on.

As usual Jeffrey Kafer narration is read beautifully and perfectly.

Absolutely got my
recommendations !!!

Very intense

The premise of drilling into the ocean on Europa seemed strange. Though the book did a decent job of portraying the characters with all their strong and weak points.

The professionalism of the scientist was stretched to the limit at times, but the book was decent.

The narration was outstanding.

This book was provided free of charge with the expectation of an honest review.

Enjoyed the story but not the narrator

I nearly gave up on this book at the start as I struggled to actually take any of it in. I think this was due to the narration style, it was way to fast for me. it felt as if I was being bombarded and there were no breaks between sentences. I slowed the speed down on the narration to .85 and this helped me get through the book. It was an interesting concept and story and I didn't want the narration to put me off.

A different kind of Robinson story.

I've recently been listening to Robinson's early "Origin" books (which are standalone, not so much a series) and have been a lot of fun to see where he started. So far, they definitely hold up as fun and interesting reads with great narration. Robinson always has such great details in his work. Worth checking out.
