About this listen
Best-selling author Jeremy Robinson returns with Tether, another entry into the genre he created—the kaiju (giant monster) thriller—this time turning it on its head.
In the middle of the night, an explosion rocks Cambridge, Massachusetts, and wakes Saul Signalman. Blue, ethereal light pulses in the sky. A video call from his wife shows her consumed in bright light, but the call ends abruptly. The explosion of light intensifies. The power goes out, and electronic devices stop working. Saul races to his wife’s lab at the explosion’s core, but the building and his wife are gone.
All that remains is a test subject named Rain, a woman with no memory, whose eyes glow and whose body lights up the night when monstrous nightmares descend on Boston. Her creators will stop at nothing to get her back. Pursued by a rogue government agency, Saul goes on the run with Rain—the only person who might be able to explain what happened to his wife. Rain might also know how to stop the otherworldly terrors that are wiping out cities.
Jeffrey Kafer is back as the voice of Robinson’s Nemesis series, pulling listeners into a supernatural world of monsters, madness, and malevolent agents that will keep them on the edge of their seats until the very end.
"Kaiju" means "strange beast" in Japanese and refers to giant monsters such as Godzilla, Gamera, and Jeremy Robinson’s creation, Nemesis.

this world
I enjoyed the narration of Jeffrey Kafer, he brings out the action and adventure.
Saul woken from sleep by a tremor and sees a column of blue light rising into the sky. His wife FaceTimes him to say goodbye from its source, the lab that she works in.
He rushes to the lab to find his wife and everything else is gone. Almost everything is lost but there is a lone survivor. Who has no idea who she is. This book is a fast a paced adventure.

Awesome
Jeffrey Kafer does an awesome job of narrating, he brings the story and the characters to life. He is clear to understand through headphones and over a Bluetooth speaker.
Jeremy Robinson has written a really cool story that I fully enjoyed. With a few Easter eggs and maybe a twist or two.

In this world and the next
At home and unable to sleep whilst his something'ology' wife is working through the night, ex crime reporter Saul feels the underground movement of an explosion and sees a blazing blue column of light centred over the laboratory where she is employed. Or rather, over where the laboratory used to be, because, as Saul discovers when he arrived there, it has gone. Instead, there is a pit, not even rubble. But there is a lone woman trapped behind a glass wall six stories down who appears to be glowing blue.
So starts another no holds barred paranormal thriller by Jeremy Robinson, a tale of black ops and ghosts, and chases from Boston to Chicago. Dialogue is good, the characters somewhat quirky - an especial favourite was the self professed Warlock who didn't believe in ghosts or anything paranormal - and their reality was solidified by the excellent performance of Jeffrey Kafer. Always a fine narrator, it was a pleasure to see his name given equal status on the cover as the author.
A fast, full action thriller with the main protagonists pursued by both the living and the dead, this story might be crazy but it is gripping, although I personally found the ending too prolonged. Recommended to those who don't mind suspending disbelief and throwing away all ideas of reality to fully immerse themselves in this paranormal horror thriller. It was fun.

I started listing to it at 1AM
And what do you know the main character also has sleeping problems.
Yet, that will very shortly be least of his problems - as he has plenty of problems to figure out, like what the heck do those Kaiju spirits want. Another fast paced Robinson thriller with excellent narration from Mr. Kafer.
