Summary

The sensational new psychological thriller from the internationally best-selling author of The Girl Before.

Claire Wright likes to play other people.

A British drama student, in New York without a green card, Claire takes the only job she can get: working for a firm of divorce lawyers, posing as an easy pick-up in hotel bars to entrap straying husbands.

When one of her targets becomes the subject of a murder investigation, the police ask Claire to use her acting skills to help lure their suspect into a confession. But right from the start, she has doubts about the part she's being asked to play. Is Patrick Fogler really a killer.... Or the only decent husband she's ever met? And is there more to this set-up than she's being told?

And that's when Claire realises she's playing the deadliest role of her life....

A rollercoaster thrilling listen, highly original

I loved JP Delaney's first book as it was such an original story so I had high hopes of Believe Me and I was not disappointed. By the end of part two I wanted to rate it six stars. This is such an original book and I loved the narration style which at times borders on audio drama. The plot is thought provoking and it had me guessing right until the end. My only criticism is the need to suspend disbelief around certain strands of the plot that just have to be accepted if the book is to be enjoyed. Overall a great listen and I can't wait for the next book.

Fast Paced Thriller

A good, fast paced thriller that keeps the tension mounting chapter after chapter until the very end.

Brilliant storyline keeping the reader always anticipating what will happen next.

Fanatic narration throughout complete with emotional voicing and accents.

An intriguing book that went on, and on and on

I was almost about to give up, but , finally there was a suitable end to the book. However, it needs to be about an hour shorter.

Extremely annoying accents.

The story is alright, nothing more.
The accents bothered me so much that the story suffered for it.

Made it to the end

Went from really annoying and dragging to a short period of oh that's intriguing and then downhill from there. Really annoying and ridiculous female lead character.

Amazing, I was hooked!

I loved it! Have to say after some of the reviews I read I was sceptical about downloading it, but so pleased that I did as I really like the book and the performance! Lots of twists but totally got it. Can’t wait to listen to her next book!

A plot twist like no other

So second book by this author for me, and I wasn’t disappointed. The story has many twists that just when you think you know, you don’t. Was it her, was it him, abs even when the answer comes out, you are left scratching your head and doubting it. This certainly keeps you on the edge of your seat. Roll on my next adventure with this author

Not so good

I’m half way through and trying to hard to enjoy it. But it’s very boring. I really want to like it but feel like just skipping to the end

Good story shame about the performance

I loved the story line.. Lots of twists a turns.
But I was not a fan of the way it kept switching from ordinary narration to sections with background noises to give it atmosphere. This is purely a personal thing as I have a hearing loss and like to listen to audio books to use my residual hearing. When the bar scenes were playing it was like all the voices had taken 10 steps away from the microphone... Add that to the background noises and chatter that were added and I couldn't hear the story. At one point I was listening to the story in the car... When the police sirens started in the story.... I was searching in my car mirrors for the blues and twos!
