Six-foot-three. Dynamic green eyes. Utterly irresistible. Ethan Everest stole my breath the first time I saw him. He romanced me with skill, dazzled me with his charisma, and proceeded to steal my heart right after. I might have fallen for his easy-going smile the first time we met, but I fell for him the second time. Honey-colored hair. Cherry-kissed lips. Captivatingly gorgeous. Singer Davis was the first, and only, woman to ever intimidate me. She spoke to my heart with her wit, seduced me with her eyes, and became the only thing that made sense in a world that made none.

Story
At fifteen I fell in love. His name was Jake Stephens and he took the abandoned, lonely girl I had been and made me whole. His love was a pure and unconditional love that made every day better than the last; a fairy tale of my very own. But this story isn't about Jake. It's about Abel Madden; the man I meet after the fairy tale goes to hell. A cocky, arrogant man who says what he wants, does as he pleases, and makes no excuses for it. He irritates me--downright pisses me off at times--but he also brings me back to life.

Summary
Ember Walsh is a trusting soul with the quiet beauty of her late mother, who perished in a mysterious car crash when Ember was three. A little tomboyish from being raised by her father, Ember packs a punch when a stranger gets pushy with her in a bar, catching the steely blue eyes of a tall, gorgeous tattooed man — Trace Montgomery. Still damaged from her last disastrous relationship and warned off the bad boy by friends, Ember fights the smoldering heat that Trace sparks in her when he begins shadowing her like a dark angel.
Burdened by a lifetime of horror and heartbreak, amateur fighter Trace doesn’t want to want Ember. His deep self-loathing keeps him from having any meaningful relationships, but Ember is an itch he can’t scratch. The two push and pull, slowly crumbling their walls, seemingly brought together by fate, because the turmoil that haunts their pasts is interlinked in undeniable ways. But can these two fighters finally lay down their arms?
In Beautifully Damaged, L.A. Fiore delves into deep scars and lets love and forgiveness uncover redemption.

terrible
full of cliches. reads like it was written by a 12 year old girl. Its reminiscent of twilight, In that the main character thinks she's plain and uninteresting yet this "amazing" man finds her irresistible. Its a romance novel. narrator was fine.

What a Surprise!!!
Where does Beautifully Damaged rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It is one of the most exciting and interesting books I've listened. Surprising, romantic, emotional. Exquisite!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Beautifully Damaged?
The plot was so complex. Many side plots and characters making the story so interesting and addictive.
Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene was the one when Amber proposed :-)
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes!!! And I almost did ;-)
Any additional comments?
I have bought this book as a romance. I was seeking a nice story with a hot hero and some bad boy actions. What I got was soooo much more. It is truly one of the best books I've listened because of all the extraordinarily balanced drama, crime, romance and action. I'm waiting for the next book from this series.

Such potential for a great story and such a shame
What would have made Beautifully Damaged better?
The author should have spent more time building their relationship up. The story didn't have a good indication as to why the girl would fall so hard for this guy in a matter of brief meetings, to the point of almost worship. There wasn't enough depth in the story. Also, the girl in the story was sooooo annoying! Get a backbone! Have some self respect!
What was most disappointing about L. A. Fiore’s story?
I literally rolled my eyes about every half hour at how weak and pathetic the girl was in different situations.
What about Amy Rubinate’s performance did you like?
She did a great job in every aspect.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Beautifully Damaged?
The scenes were Trace told her to leave, to get out and they were over and Ember would follow him everywhere.
Any additional comments?
This story has great potential with the right 'tweeking' here and there. Was very disappointed to see such a good story get ruined the way it was.

Good Read
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. It is a different twist on a romance but very good. A little too much on the sex detail. I think it could go into depth on more of the characters background. In the sex, I believe it is better if you can you can personally use your imagination more.
Who was your favorite character and why?
My favorite character was Ember and her father. I love a close father/daughter relationship like they had.
What does Amy Rubinate bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Amy was great as a narrator. She made the people come to life so you could love them or hate them.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
That even though Trace was a manly man her was able to cry and show emotions.

im not sure where this went wrong
I have read this book 2 times and I liked it, however after listening to it be read in a breathy voice with really bad renditions of male voices I now cant imagine why I liked it. The characters are kind of ridiculous and the story line started one place and ended up someplace totally different. This did not bother me when reading this book but after listening, this kind of reminds me of one of those ideas that sounded good in theory but once you started telling others about it kind of sounded dumb instead. I keep forgetting that I dont like the narrtors voice. she makes everything sound like im listening in on a sexy phone call. And the men sound girly dumb or like hillbillys.
