Summary
Baker's End: Gobbleknoll Hall brings together Tom Baker, former Doctor Who companion Katy Manning, and comedienne Diane Morgan (Philomena Cunk from Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe) for a tale of television ghost hunters, dead glam-rock stars and goblins.
Ghost-hunting TV show Manifest Yourself is filming an overnight vigil in the infamous Gobbleknoll Hall, deep in the murksome woods somewhat near the village of Happenstance! When Mrs Frimbly gets wind of these swervish developments, she is terribly excited: she's a huge fan of the show.
But the spirits of Gobbleknoll Hall are not to be messed about with, as the King of Cats knows all too well! Why is the crepusular mansion haunted by the jangling of ancient glam-rock anthems? What is the secret of the phantom boozer in the basement? And what the fudgeknocking blazes is Mrs Frimbly playing at?

Delightfully silly
I love all three of the main cast and it would be a joy to hear them in anything. I suspect you have to be of a certain age to fully appreciate all the jokes and references- I loved the Coach and Horses scene. Also appreciated Katy Manning channeling a glam rock star - hilarious.

Bafflegab + Paul Magrs = Pure Joy

Bafflegab have produced some of the very best audio dramas (The Scarifyers) and once again they have teamed up with writer Paul Magrs (The Brenda and Effie Mysteries) for Baker’s End.
The story starts when Suzy Goshawk (narrator + played by Katy Manning) travels to Happenstance for Tom Baker’s funeral (played by himself), but not all as it seems.
Some stories are predictable, this is not. It’s bonkers and a highly enjoyable listen.

Episode 03 - Tatty Bogle
Only three episodes have been produced so far, but I do hope the saga of Baker’s End continues……..

Ghostly doings.
More fun and mayhem, with ghost hunters and a peculiar housekeeper grabbed by the goblins! the King of Cats lords it mightily at the hall, creating some oddly poignant moments, too. Cast are all fantastic, as is the totally in keeping music and effects.

Listen before you buy
I could not get on with this audio book at all. Mainly because of the narration. I tried and had to give up. Intend trying others in the series as I believe these have a different narrator.
