Autumn Reads - Excellent.
This is an excellent selection of 6 short stories. Each I think is thought provoking in it's own way. I particularly like the Charlie Chuck one, it was amusing in ways although Charlie was an unfortunate veteran finding himself begging on the streets. An unexpected act of kindness however proved that all was not as bad as it seemed. This could well have been a much longer story, it left me wanting more. The others were very good and kept me listening until sadly I came to the end of the book. The final story which is more or less in the form of a letter does carry an important life message in that it is best to make your true feelings about someone known as the consequences of not doing this can be devastating. I would happily listen to more from this author if they were available in audio. Pete McGiffens narration was outstanding as the narrative I felt really put his abilities to use a variety of different voices to the test.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the narrator and leave this honest review.

Great short stories but …
These are a great bunch of short stories that meant I could NOT stop listening. My personal fave was the genre-less Charlie sprattle.
Very well written and amazingly narrated, I love the imagery as a visually impaired person the descriptors really portrayed the scene well, I loved the northern twang too.
My only but is that I wish there were more. I was on edge waiting to hear more, particularly at the wishing tree and author no 3.
Always a sign of a good book when you can’t put it down

6 Brilliant stories from April, Great Narration !
Have only just got a into audio books and podcasts. was looking for something a bit different asni generally read or listen to the same things. like the idea of the short stories as something to listen to on the journey to and from work. Got immersed in this straight away. really enjoyed all the stories and the differing genres. There is something for everyone. great levels of details and plot. Hope April continues on with the theme with some new material soon !

easy listening. great short stories.
listened to the audiobook as reading isn't my strong point. I was amazed I made it to the end I couldn't turn it off as the stories continued I needed to hear more. I would recommend this book to anyone easing themselves back into the reading world. the audiobook was very well narrated.

Easy to listen to, perfect for in the car.
The narrator executed the various characters' accents well. My favourite story was 'the Anger Issue'
which had some comedy moments mixed with a few moments of terror. Each story had the potential to be turned into a novel. Charlie Sprattel, the story of an ex army veteran, had a feel good ending, and made me remember how lucky I am to have a roof over my head.

Autumn Reads
I'm a fan of short story anthologies and I enjoy a range of genres too. This collection has something for everyone, and without getting into spoilers it has SF / Thriller, Psychological / Thriller, Romance / Drama, Fantasy, Horror / Drama & LGBTQ Romance!
The narration is solid. There's a range of characters and accents in here, and you get the emotional engagement, especially in the veteran's tale. Recommended 👍
